Next job was to remove the stereo as that won't be needed anymore!...
Plus this made room for me to fit my custom din switch panel...
Really pleased with how it looks!
It needs a bit of tlc but will hopefully get there with it. Yeah, I've got a standard ph1 but couldn't resist this when it came up as a lot of the time consuming bits had all ready been done.
Ok well I have always wanted a cup for the track and finally got my hands on one. It's already been stripped out, has coilovers, seats and harnesses, rear brace, and some wind deflectors, so not a bad start. My plan is to continue with the track theme, general tlc all round and add my own touch...
Well ended up buying a clio cup today so this ph1 is now for sale if anyone is interested?
I'd be looking for offers around £800 for the car as she stands today I.e standard car.
Most of the bits will be finding there way on to the other car apart from the cup suspension and rear brakes maybe...
Few other bits arrived today, Brembo Max grooved high carbon front discs with Mintex race pads plus a set if MLR braided hoses...
Plus added some obligatory tow race decals, I ordered black but turned up red!...
Finally got round to fitting the switches to the din panel. I've gone for a push button start, fuel pump switch and an aux switch plus x2 LEDs one if witch I hope to use as a shift light....
Standard panel...
Drilled and switches installed...
Fitted...
Really pleased with how it looks...
Another parcel arrived, new rear mintex pads & discs with bearings....
Then decided to crack on stripping the rear seats and few other bits out and was left with a nice mess! ....
Good clean out later, much better...
Then fitted the engine cover I had previously taken off cleaned up and...
Another slightly bigger parcel arrived today...
My brand new spanking corbeau seats with side mounts and runners!...
Really pleased with these! Bargain too IMO.
Agreed!
My drive is slightly off camber so looks worse than it is. I wanted to go coilover route but might just end up on springs for now to keep the costs under control.
Yeah body work is pretty tidy after a good clean, it had been sat for months when I bought it. Bonnet needs a lick of paint but other than that for her ages it's quite tidy.
Mechanically well just from driving it I know it needs brakes all round, has a knock when setting off ( suspect gearbox...
Also fitted a din blanking panel that will house a few switches in the future plus replaced the faulty standard clock display with an LED volt meter to keep an eye on the battery charge...
Cheers, long way to go yet but only had it 2 weeks! Ha.
Managed to source a set of 16" oz wheels as not a fan of the black f1 wheels. Plan is to refurb them silver and use for the track.
In the meantime I gave the 16's a good clean up...
Went to fit them but the car hasn't come with...
