Hello my fellow members.
Just after a little bit of info on this motor as not too familiar with it.
Hvaent even had a proper look at it yet.
The mrs keeps on moaning about her aux belt sqeeling like mad when shes driving.
Is it an easy job to tighten up on these engines or is it a tiring...
Some chap in a blue 172 cup with yozza stickers and i think a carbon bonnet let me cross to go to the cinema last night
And then spotted a silver one with what looked to be a carbon bonnet as well on the way out later in the evening
Is anyone running a smaller rad and fan setup on a 172?
Im in need of either and new rad and fan setup or maybe just a new fan but mount it from the front.
Need about 2" to get a decent filter for my bodies as the trumpets are touching the cowling at the moment.
What have you done or what...
I am looking at getting a mocal or simmilar but not sure on where to mount it.. I have still got my battery in the bay at the moment.
(On a 172 Cup)
For the people who do run them, what type have you got and where abouts have you mounted them?
Cheers
Ahhh hold on. I was thinking it was all part of the cam cover.. but it will just bolt off i assume?
Sorry i havent got the car to look at at the moment..
Ok, cheers chaps.
I think i will remove the carbon can, be the easiest way.
Did you lot extend the coil pack bracket a bit higher to fit above the sort of lobe of the CC breather or cut it off?
Im just in the middle of fitting some ITBs to my 172 Cup and was wondering what all you guys out there have done with the oil breather on the cam cover when fitting ITB's?
Shall i attach some hose and a catch tank to it and relocate the coil pack somewhere else?
Or shall i just trim it down...
I have always heard that socks tend to restrict the power a bit compared to the sausage filters..
Im sure Andy or someone will know whats best though..
