You dont want to spend silly money on a new car? It will be cheaper than tuning the 172 for not as much power and more problems.. If you want a "turbo" buy a turbo charged car and save yourself problems.

Depends what you do.. theres obviously going to be less restrictive air flow which is the whole reason for ITBs. But if your going to have carbs then get a cam / set of cams to work with them and then get them jetted properly and advance the timing to suit. Im not familiar with the these engines...

Hmm i would pay someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you mate. It is still an advanced job if you havent any knowledge of whats involved. For eg. Taking things apart the correct way and then putting them together the correct way for starters..
