kev i have seen ones with say water seals gone sell for 1500 mint body work etc... if you take the engine out your self (recon i can do it in about 1-2 hours max) stick the engine in a boot of another car, drive to birmingham and get era and colum to strip, and port it then build it back up...
ha 650 isn't hard tbh, gearbox won't last though mines on its last legs... will prob go rx8 6 speed box when i need to! yeh they are getting cheaper....
did he f**k lol, he was talking a lot but nothing happened... he crashed the car on ice and is now building a track car which was going to be a time attack car but has been changed to just an occasional track toy lol!
I've been passenger in a couple cars over 200, r32 skyline.... had a ride in a bentley flying spur or whatever it is (the 4 door continental gt) with 4 people in it around brunters at 180+
box is limited to about 170 i think with the ratios... if i got a diff off of an auto and put it in... its closer to 190mph.... had it to 140ish and it felt like my mums mx5 doing 110 lol! just calm and no issues :) i wouldn't want to go much faster tbh!
lol the s14? that wasn't drifted he was in the middle of building it when he sold all the bits... s15 he sold all the good bits off of it...
and i have drifted... haven't competed but have drifted...
mitto has built more than one car and then sold it after using it once lol or sells the...
thats because of the chassis length difference... a longer wheel base slides easier, thats why the majority of good ae86 drifters are pretty much the best drivers you will find, a rx7 doesn't drift well stock because the wheels don't have enough angle on the front... sbodies have more angle and...
you aren't trying hard enough then lol! the trans tunnel is there to rest your arm on.... thats how your supposed to drive them, not with your arm in the air like a clio lol! u don't bang your elbow then... i can get my mums mrk 3.5 to slip out in the dry with an open diff lol! try harder
the rx7 is very similar to the rx7 lol! to an mx5... hnmmm not far off, similar seating position and feel well to a mrk3 and 3.5 mx5 they are very similar... the mx5 is a shorter wheel base the rx7 is more predictable in a slide than a mx5... stock vs stock very very similar handling and ride...
Thanks for the comments :)
Insurance hnmmm that's a tricky one yeh it group 20 but it's import too... I'm 26 and pay 700 fully comp all covered.... Most places won't insure under 25's I had alot of trouble next time I renue I will be sticking it on classic car insurance and it will cost me...
VIDEO'S!!!!!!!!!!!!
here is the first, just an idle and rev clip of the st mays shotgun... there is another being uploaded at the moment of drive by's etc.... ignore the filming on the second clip had to get my mother to hold the camera and well.... it took like 20 attempts!
I might get a dolphin tail at some point... Looks much better in person it's staggered exits so it's different looking :) will take better pics tomorrow
new exhaust fitted today :) think I'm the only car in the UK with one of these fitted!!!
sounds less in your face, you can actually talk in the car and it sounds sooooo good!!! will post a sound clip/video either tomorrow or monday :)
LOL! you realise a ae86 is just as hard to drift if not harder than a mx5 don't you?? you did well in your mx5 but don't assume a 86 is easier in any way lol!!!
as for the price of proper lsd's like a kaaz or similar i wouldn't pay more than 400 for a new one lol, its who you know ;)
i know one of the guys in the hks drag series made a post about a powder coating intercoolers and said it made a pretty big bad difference to the actual cooling ability :/ its a shame as there are some cool powder finishes you can get :)
hnmmm mine isn't, nor is any greddy, blitz, pan speed etc cooler i have seen?? we are talking intercooler right??? if so i have never seen a powder coated intercooler on any car... painted yes, powder coated no...
dont powder coat the intercooler... they don't perform as well! you can mask it and powder coat the tanks etc but not the fins as they stop it working as well...
thats all the emissions s**t that americans have to have fitted, there is like 5 extra parts on the USDM engine to lower emissions than the uk or jap model had lol! makes it sound like an electric engine :)
