Small update:
Been working on a customers GT4 Aston which is having its end of season rebuild so progress has slowed slightly, however some exciting bits have arrived!
Yesterday we went into Prodrive to see the newly built engine (1st of 2 engines we are getting), on the dyno. It dyno'd at...
I've got my plate back off of my Audi now, so just got to go into the DVLA and transfer it on, got the plates made up already :-)
Here's a pic of the car this morning filthy and iced up, using it as my daily so need to get some winter tyres on as its getting a bit too sideways now even at low...
Update 3
Finished bolting the steering rack on yesterday. Also fitted the NS front brake duct...
Its currently got a half blanking plate on it at the moment. The blanking plate is used to control the amount of brake cooling as in cooler conditions its difficult to keep brake temperature at a...
Ha Whitey works
Fitted a new engine as we had a new 4.3 engine on the shelf so put that one in the car and took the high mileage to our engine builders to be converted into a 4.7 'Full Fat' 470bhp spec race engine. Made sense really due to the mileage even though there was nothing wrong with it
Rebuilt original one, with the Aluminium water pulley that lasted 18 hours in a pre LeMans test. They fitted a steel one thinking it would last longer but instead the steel version meant a more drastic failure happened after very little running. That's why it lasted only 1 lap in the 009 car and...
Todays Update:
Finished fitting the front wishbones, uprights, cake tins, discs, pads and calipers.
Got some more detailed pictures of inside the cake tins where you can see the uprights which are machined from solid Aluminium..
The array of circular holes on the front of the hub is for...
Wanting to do British GT's in a GT3 Aston, BIG Money though :banghead:. Need to rob a bank I think haha. What about you? When you getting me in your Lotus for these longer races that you've had that has-been (:clown:) Wilcox in for?
They are literally amazing! Have Titanium brake bells too, so picking them up feels like....I dunno....maybe about 1Kg. Will have to weigh them tomorrow to find out!
The 'Engineering Floor' is a Steel floor that is pretty much a flat floor. Good to build cars like this on as you can attach digital measurement arms (Such as a Faro Arm) to the floor to get accurate measurements of components if required.
Re: My new car.....
Thanks for the comments guys and girls :)
The bits fitted obviously aren't to everyones taste as it goes away from that classic 'Aston' look, but I think it looks good!
Fitted a brand new 4.3 as we had one on the shelf, all our race cars run the 4.7, but it was easier &...
So hopefully everyone will find this of some interest!
Aston Martin AMR-One Chassis 001 rebuild.
Background info:
Going to be lazy here and point you in the direction of a website which explains all about the car/project...

Sold the Audi A5 Black Edition Coupe I had last week and now running this Aston Martin V8 Vantage :D:D
Bit of back ground info...My Dad and I own Generation AMR which is the Official Aston Martin Racing Junior Team, so when he was offered this road car...
Yea thats mine and my dad's car. Gumball invited me up with the car for static display at Pall Mall for the start but also gave me four tickets to the pre rally party the night before....epic does not describe it! Hahaha.
I was there in London this weekend! Such an awesome experience, I have got to do the Gumball at some point in my life.
The organisers asked me to take my race car up for static display alongside Pall Mall, and managed to get entry to the pre-rally party on Friday night! What a party, can't...
Format is, Practice & Qualifying in one 30 minute session both drivers have to do a minimum of three laps (That's if you have two drivers, can do it all on your own if you like).
Then race in the afternoon, they range from 90 mins up to 150 mins at Spa. Next round is at Silverstone on the 22nd...
The ABS system that's retained actually makes the car harder to drive on the limit, due to the peddle being really inconsistant and the ABS kicks in right when you don't want it to and you end up coming into a corner faster than you would like. All the traction control etc I have turned off...
Yea I think the car is too loud for the cameras microphone, which is probably why it distorts. It is a completly different beast to the Seat, had a few 'tank slapper' moments getting used to RWD but have settled into it nicely now!
Yea my dad is indeed, Dave Appleby the 'V6 clio rally car...
Hi All.
Me and my dad did the first round of the Aston Martin GT4 Championship two weekends ago. Our first race weekend together and for the team. I put together a video to do most of the explaining! Lol.
