Mine is leaking at this point - is this part definately classed as a seal or is it not a CV joint?
My warranty covers the following:-
Drive Train
Drive shafts, prop-shafts, centre bearings, constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings.

Thanks for all help - just need part numbers for shaft / seal and I can get the bits and job done - no more smelling of darn gearbox oil!!
I really just need the tiny switch on the circuit board which can be soldered - just a thought!

I'm confused, the guy who had a look is an expert with Renault 5's (he set the setup is very similar) and said the job would be fairly simple?!
He seemed to think it was a case of getting the seal and shaft and fitting.
Any pics would be handy as I have not seen how these are setup.

Just had it looked at by the chap I bought it from and he said it is leaking where the shaft enters the gearbox and hence needs a new seal. Any ideas on the part number and approx labour hours?

..............seems I have a leak which I assume is gearbox oil - very strong smell when driving and difficult to engage into 1st gear when engine is cold.
What are the likely scenarios?

They will enjoy it when they receive my letter of complaint - cover most items (steering pump, rack, etc) so not sure why they won't cover a sensor.
Working for a large insurance co. they should treat customer service over money saving!

.......just taken out a policy with warrantywise and they are refusing replacement of a PAS sensor. Would this fall under any of the following?
Rack and pinion, steering box, power steering rack and pinion, power steering box, pressure pipes, idler box, hydraulic and electrical power steering...
Mine seems to be doing this now - what a pain!
Neighbours right hacked off with me in the morning.
Is this likely to be tensioning? Since the squeeling steering does not feel the same.
