Maybe they've changed a bit then (hopefully they have). Just the design and finish of them once I pulled them off I was shocked with: same coil spacing throughout the length of the coil, same thickness of metal on the spring, very poorly finished ends. Looked like they'd just wound a piece of...
Got round to fitting the Eibach Pro Kit springs over the weekend to replace the God awful Apex springs that were on the 182 when I bought it. And what a difference! They're so much more compliant, the car doesn't crash around all over the road, the ride is improved no end as well. The car sits a...
I'll be there, got a pass to bring the 182 in the paddock but I'm not going to get chance to give it a clean so think I'll just stay in the normal car park! 🙈
@MarcR™
Is that a homemade cover/shielding or a bought one? Was thinking of making something almost identical... But if it's readily available and not expensive I might but one to save the hassle.
Interested in something similar too - fairly new to the Clio's but am currently not a fan of the standard setup. PMS stuff seems nice even if pricey. Has anyone done a DIY shift system? Looks easy enough to make something similar, but not wanting to rip them off.
I'll probably do this anyway when I've got the whole lot apart. I know the rear dampers were replaced a little while ago - whilst I've got the fronts apart I'll probably do the dampers too. On that note - where is best for them? I see Wolverhampton Renault are on here, I'll probably drop them a...
I think they'd be great on track, and on a car that would see good track action, but the Clio is my daily; with the springs not being of progressive design and the dampers being at the lower limit of their travel, I find the ride a little to bumpy for daily driving. So maybe s**t is the wrong...
Hi all,
Ordered some Eibach Pro-Kit springs to replace the s**te Apex (I think they're Apex) springs on the 182. Is there anything else I should do whilst I'm in there? Just noticed top mounts are plenty cheap enough...
Swapped out to some Philips bulbs last night, warning light now gone when on dipped beam as it should. I thought this would be the case! Ta for the help Ads.
Thought as much Ads. Going to swap them out anyway as they were only cheapish ones and they don't spread the light that well. Can't justify the expensive LED bulbs and don't want to risk the looks-good-but-doubtable-quality eBay specials.
Whats general consensus on main beam bulbs for the 1*2s...
They do work. My first post says I put in LED main beam bulbs that naturally have less resistance than traditional filament bulbs. I believe these are causing the main beam warning light to be permanently illuminated regardless of whether they are on or not. I assume that the light is on as a...
No, perhaps I didn't word it well. It's on permanently with the dipped beam lights which it didn't (and shouldn't) do when the normal fitment halogen bulbs are fitted ( the lights are off at this point . When I put the main beam on, the dipped beam light goes off leaving the main beam light on...
Well I'm going to be pulling the LEDs out ha. Not impressed, thought the tech had moved on a bit!
Anyway, regardless of bulbs, I assume the main beam warning light being on is to warn of blown bulbs?
Hi all,
Thought I'd treat myself to some LED main beam bulbs for the 182 this afternoon. However since putting them in the main beam warning light on the dash is permanently illuminated when the dipped beam are on. I'm assuming that this is on to ordinarily warn you about one of the bulbs being...
Hi all,
Just got myself a BG 182 that I'm collecting on Saturday. Got a couple of bits done to it including KTR stuff (induction kit, exhaust and Group N remap). Also sitting on what I think is Apex -40mm springs (car sits quite low and the springs are yellow) that I'll be swapping out for...
