Sooo..... after a little while, I've finally managed to make a bit of progress on this!
Here's the head and block after I got them back from the machine shop. Both have been skimmed ready for my metal head gasket and the bores have been done to accommodate new oversized pistons.
Next up...
Haha, quality!! Small world.... I was on UH12 with the likes of Mr Stretch and such. Glad to see the success is continueing, good luck in germany...see if you can better our 2nd place result! :)
So....I have had this Toyota Supra for a bit more than a year now, but it started to burn lots of oil (it is 20 years old) and so, I bought a 2nd car (the Clio of course...) so that I could work on the Supra!
This is the Supra, on the way to Le Mans in 2010:
The aim of the project is to fully...
Yehh, a couple of people dropped out so I'm on the 12.30 slot. Not sure we're actually allowed to push the cars though, I hear there's people from site services with a speed gun.... but we shall see. Hopefully you'll get yours back tonight and we'll see it tomorrow!
I'm pretty sure that's another one of the other grads here, Tom Cox. He's got a 182, think it's a 55 plate...but don't quote me on that.
Matt, are you the Matt Stills who's bringing ur car in for the "wheels" event on friday??
I'm not a fan of the smoked look, hence why I removed them from the car i bought and replaced them with standard lights....
Therefore, I have set of smoked rear lights I could do with selling if you are still interested in getting some.
I'm attempting to replace a few small bits of interior trim and wanted to know which colour cars have the same interior colour as my monaco blue 172....my interior is the standard dark greyish kinda colour. Any ideas?
I work for JLR, work at the Gaydon site and live in the village of Lighthorne Heath (a mere mile from Heritage)....I'm pretty sure it would be silly for me not to attend!!
And before you ask, no I cannot get access to the test track!! hehe
I'm way too excited...I woke up at like 5am this morning thinking about more little things that I needed to pack in the car!!
Heading down south tonight to stop over at my auntys and then onto the 8pm ferry from dover to dunkirk tmoro morning. When's everyone's ferry crossings??
Okay... this is a little odd, but i've taken out the standard unit (which was working fine) and connected up my sony head unit and the power seems to come on and off temperamentally.
I've tried to see whether there are any dodgy connections, but there aren't. And when I re-connect the standard...
Supermarkets wise.... there's actually 3 within reasonable distance of the track:
Super U in the town of Arnage, Carrefour just north of the track towards the town centre and then a mahousive Auchan just on the main road on the North west side as you come in towards the town.
How many years...
I've not had mine long and my rear seats are already out! It's quite simple really:
Before removing, get underneath the car, find the exposed end of the 3 bolts and soak them in penetrating fluid (wd40 etc). The outside 2 are on the leading side of the rear springs as you look underneath.
Use...
i am ridiculously pretty.... but i won't be putting up pics of myself!! pics will be up soon, gonna clean the car at the weekend and give it a good wax in time for the big trip, so ill take some then

Yehhh, solid runner. Cambelt done less than 10k ago, so it's all good I think. I'm gonna give it the once over, fluids etc but just wondered if there was anythin random i should look out for.
Giraffe - good advice, after a bit of a play with the car. I'd have to be seriously pushing it to loose...
...in time for my yearly jaunt to Le Mans. Any advice for making sure it'll get there and back in an effortless fashion?? (this is my first post on the forum p.s) :approve:
