    KTR v's K&N panel filter

It's just a smoother curve going up the revs. the KTR seemed to be holding back slightly and the change has undoubtedly cured that. K&N have been specialists in induction since they began so thought I'd give it a go. Definitely a better filter for me anyway.

F4R timing belt tools Renault v 3rd party

Why bother risking it buddy. It's a well trodden path.

    KTR v's K&N panel filter

Swaped over a fairly low mileage KTR filter for a new K&N last night. What a difference! Was gonna sell the KTR but if anyone wants it, it's in my grey wheelie bin with the rest of the rubbish now ;)

Coming back to the Clio scene, 182? or 197?

182 mate. I done the same recently after owning various turbo'd cars for 3 or 4 years. Was a blast getting back in a 182. What I like most is the huge availability, and price of secondhand and performance parts. They're now soooo cheap to run and modify. When I sold my RB cup, you were looking...

    184bhp ???

Need to remember not all RRs will read the same. Too many people get caught up chasing numbers. If it feels good to you that's what matters Buddy. Forget worrying about figures or buy a turbo'd car and be done with it :)

    Bilstien b14 or spax rsx

Cheers Cub. Not sure I'll track this week car though. I just want it lowish but for general daily driving just now if you know what I mean.

    Bilstien b14 or spax rsx

Oops sorry buddy. Yeah, cambers. Don't know where that came from. Two hours sleep last night. There's a guy just round from my work that's a bit of a genius at setting up, but I'm pretty sure they'll be required. I bought it lowered on Apex's by 40mm. Inner treads fooked already.

Do you run offset bolts on them?

    Bilstien b14 or spax rsx

Lookin good Dan. Similar to my own on Apex's. Gee.

    Bilstien b14 or spax rsx

At the guys running Billy's.... Especially Dan2707 as I like the sound of your ride. What sort of heights have you got them set up at? I don't want to buy these then find out they have to be set fairly high to be compliant enough for road use. Thanks :)

    Bilstien b14 or spax rsx

Hmmm. I'm liking this a lot. Just abouts change my suspension set up too. If my MOT goes well next week I think I could be running Billy's :) Thanks for the link buddy. Gee.

Car was crashed into and now its probably going to be written off...

You'd be surprised how many people would buy a catD. As long as theres good photographic evidence that the damage wasn't serious, I'd be happy to take one on if it was in top condition. Personally buddy if it was mine, I'd buy it back and repair it. Doesn't look serious at all. Hope the claim...

Apex lowering springs and bit harsh?

These were on the car when I bought it. I'm thinking they look about a 40mm drop.Anyone else running these on standard shocks. Feels a bit harsh to me for public roads. Might go Coilovers but don't want the same issue if i do. Looking at another post it seems Billy B14s are pretty good...

    BC Racing Coilovers Setup

Since you're inundated with replys buddy I'll give you my experience :) I haven't actually ran them on a clio but found that 14 front & 12 rear worked for me on my Impreza. Totally different animal I know, but also found that they were a bit of a waste unless the rest of your chassis was in...

    Old pads new Disc's??

Warped disc is hard to detect at town speeds, but will vibrate and sound like a droning noise if you stomp on the brakes hard from 70 down to a low speed, can't mistake it. I wouldn't worry about re-using the pads unless your old discs have significant scoring buddy. Gee.

    Mid life crisis

Nice one buddy. No such thing as mid life crisis. You're young forever and don't let anyone tell you otherwise :)

Bright colour roll cage yes or no?

Orange definitely buddy. Will look the cats fanny. If its a roadcar just be careful. Some insurance companies void a claim if you haven't told them it's caged. Some won't even insure caged cars. Been there many times when I was building minis.

    10-60 Fully Synthetic Oil

@ Northloop. I take it you'll be putting a thermostat inline somewhere? Used to run them in my turbo cars to prevent over cooling of the oil. I'm not meaning to sound like a smartypants, just gathering information on what these wee engines like and don't like before I decide on what I'm going...

    10-60 Fully Synthetic Oil

Yeah I understand that buddy. I never push an engine till the oils warmed up. A lot of people think coz the water temps up that means the engines hot. Oil takes that time again at least. It's got 5-40 in it just now but needs a service so I'll fire the 10-60 in and see how it goes. Once it...

    10-60 Fully Synthetic Oil

Got 5litres lying spare from my Impreza. It loves it but anyone use it in a stock F4r? Everyone's opinions on oils differ usually, so that's why I'm asking. Most of these oils weren't available when these cars were designed, so I don't need to know what Renault recommended at the time. What...

Ricardos Petrol Blue Supercharged 182 Project

That's a big bonus that stock internals are up to the job. If i go down this route I'll probably buy a £600 parts bin to do a mock up. Couldn't face my car being off the road too long. Then just do a weekend swap. ECU wise I'd need to talk to my DTA guy but he's a bit of a genius at mapping...

    Boosted 182's ?

Thanks Ricardo. I would likely favour a charger over turbo for the very reasons you highlight. My last car was running 350 on the turbo but I feel turboing would be too aggressive on the F4. I've also ran DTA in the past so I'm aware of the benefits of loading up saved maps. Obviously I'll need...

I'd have said alternator but first check all the charge wiring earth cable etc.

    Twingo 133 or 182

Touring about Scotland on Sunday viewing 182's. Couple of Twingo 133's for sale too. Anyone got any exexperience or opinions on them? I've owned a 182Cup a few fears ago so know what to expect on that front. Never forget that wee thing firing up in minus 17deg temps a few winters ago :)...

    Boosted 182's ?

Hi folks names Gary. Used to own a 182Cup in RB. Loved it and thinking of coming back to a 182. Problem is, not sure I can live without forced induction these days. Any boosted Clios on the forum? Any guidance, advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Gee.

Juddering when pulling off in first gear

My 182Cup had started doing this. When disengaging, but was doing it inbetween upshifts and down in all gears too. I thought it was a clutch issue at first but now I'm thinking it's more of a fueling issue. Doesn't do it when cold, and it clears itself if you give it a blast above 5000rpm every...

    Engine Steady's?

Cheers. It's not really that bad, but i notice it. It may just be my driving style as I usually drive a Diesel. Is it a common problem though? Gaz.

    Alarm Imobiliser on a A82?

Sorted. Just had to sign a declaration stating that it had a fully functional OEM Alarm & Imobiliser. Happy days eh :D
