Coil problems are a big thing but mines only blown one in 2 years, typical though... i used it every day for that long and no problems and i take it off the road for two weeks and a coil goes down :dapprove: Tyres arnt cheap, best part of £500 for my back pilot sports but they've lasted 14k...

Yeah mark ones are still awesome cars. Mine was a daily driver for nearly 2 years.. snow and all sorts! Was going to sell it because i thought i was getting bored of it but after the vee meet and blasting round the lake district i fell back in love and started chucking money at it again :)

Boosh has done it and made a little guide somewhere, it'd be a bit different as you'res is a mk3 but same steps to follow

It wont kill it but 5w40 is better, topping up with 10w40 wont make much difference to be fair.... if its a high milage one it might even be better running it on 10 as its a but thicker

I think you can 280bhp without forging it, might be for the best though! The interior is nice on mini's imo.. so much better than any other cars in the same price bracket... can't see why you wouldnt like the gearbox either! Quite clunky but has a nice solid feel to it
