I'm no use with what cable to use, i bought some off ebay for my speakers, as i'd been using the thin rubbish that came with them fine, so anything 'should' be better.
But installing the cables, i chased the channels in & put small conduit plugged and screwed to the wall, then plastered over...
^^ i'm with you on that, a few mates have them above their fireplace.... not nice especially as they're in quite small rooms too!
Mine however, i've wall mounted a unit so the top is about as high as an average tv cabinet/stand, then put the tv a couple of inches above so it's the same height as...
I've recently wall mounted my tv & chased the cables in, i chased the wall out & fixed that plastic trunking to house the cables, so i can take them out/ add more if needed.
Then had it skimmed over.
Just make sure the trunking is a few mms below the depth of the plaster... otherwise you'll...
Cheers Guys, i've read previously about fake memory cards!!.. i'll make sure i buy from play/amazon direct with whichever one then.
And looks like cheap ones are a no go.. i don't think he's going to be taking much in the way of video.. just little clips here & there i expect, but as the camera...
Hi All,
My old man has just bought a Canon 600d & he's just asked if i want his old 450d to which i said yes please! (i know nothing about photography but starting to get an interest in it now)
I've offered him some money for the camera as i guess it's still worth a few quid? but my old man...
I'm just looking at getting a new TV which will probably mean a sound system as well.. (as you say the sound is crap on thse new TVs)
I'm probably going with the 2.1 or soundbar option.
I've spotted that Panasonic have a soundbar that can convert to a 2.1 system that looks ok...
I've been looking at TVs recently & eveyone i know thats had a samsung (5 people) have had problems with them resulting in replacement panels & a couple ended up swapping for panasonic & sony tvs..
Are they known to play up more than other brands??? as i've been avoiding looking at them.
I've...
I'm looking around/into the home surround kit, & i didn't see that Onkyo one above, it looks pretty good. I take it, thats better than http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packages/yamaha/yht294/yama-yht294?
On comparing the 2 i've noticed the Onkyo amp has normal speaker wire...
So the wii wouldn't connect then as it's the component type lead? i suppose you could connect the audio (red/white) to the onyko & the video to the tv? although thats a bit of a pain.
^^ sorry i mean will all this plug into the Onyko 2.1 system, as i'm trying to decide between the 2.
I gather the yamaha set up will connect everything to it, but wondering whether the onyko will too. (don't want to regret the decision!)
Also, as my room layout isn't any good for the 5.1...
Sorry for the daft questions & for hijacking Maces thread!, could you also plug an ipod/ipod dock into it? just thinking of things i might need before buying anything.
So i suppose i'd want to connect, Bluray,Wii,xbox, ipod to the box.
I'm glad this cropped up (as i'm so out of date with AV i don't know how it all plugs in now a days!!)
After moving house a while ago, i'm just about to redecorate my lounge... my thinking is, a TV is part of the decor so my 'OLD' 28" hitachi LCD needs replacing. (i got a new small sony led for...
Would this wheel cleaner be any good on 'Really' bad wheels? My alloys have lots of well & truely baked on Brake dust, do you think the Bilberry cleaner would touch it? i've been seeing the name mentioned a bit.
I've just bought a 2 bay nas enclosure http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124390 (although it was £49.99 last week, but goes out of stock quick!!) & added a 1TB drive for £35 for now, probably add a 2nd one into the enclosure. Seemed pretty good for £85 all in.
It gets good write ups generally. So...
Is this the one in a spray bottle? http://www.smartvaleting.co.uk/cleaning_wash_gloss_shampoo_g101_care_clean.cat.shtml the 'Clean wheels' spray?
I'm in need of something to clean up my filthy alloys!!
I think they're Called 'Long Beach' and are 17" from what i've read they were on the US version of Boras/golfs, i've seen a golf round my way with a set of those on & thought they looked nice (like a larger version of the poor 15" AVUS alloys on my golf!)
Lumix TZ7, good zoom, good pics & HD video
on amazon for £185
I bought one a few months back & very impressed.
Or the TZ10 which is the newer one has built in GPS so you'll know where all your pics were taken on your travels. (£227)
^^ what does that make my 28" lol :o i remember when i bought it many years ago, i was the only person i knew with an LCD tv!
now i've got a larger lounge it looks like it should be in the bedroom, so need a bigger TV!
I'd be interested to know how the SD pictures look aswell.
I'm trying to decide between the Panasonic G20 & Sony HX703.
Love the look of the Sony, but the panasonic allows you to record tv programs to an external Hard drive which would be good.
at the moment i'd be watching the majority of tv...
This is probably of no use, but i had the same issue with my surround sound, i had a technics amp & sony sub & speakers. When there was no bass during a film the sub would go into standby and not actually come back on as it's supposed to, i the found a tiny switch on the sub box which made it...
I think i'll go for the single exam route then when the time comes seeing as theres quite a bit of difference in the amount of questions. Thats providing the exam voucher i can claim will let me do the ccna exam as i got it when i did a Global Knowledge CCNA Security online course. (i think...
well done,
I really ought to get my arse in gear and go for it too. I've been working with cisco kit for the past 2 years now & have done the courses but never had the time to revise properly for the exam.
Also didn't know if it was worth doing the ccent exam first then ccna???
Anyway...
£125 a year for my Golf tdi which is nice come renewal time... enjoyed my old 172 cup more though :-(
My old Pug 306 derv is around the £200 mark though.. both 1.9 derv but one old & one new'er'
Was based on engine size back in the day.
as said above, they might waive the cost if you don't mind being tied into BT line rental for 18 months.
I moved house about 12 months ago & they the house had previously been disconnected & had virgin.
I was told it will cost £135 (ish) for a new connection. So i gave in & went ahead, only to...
Hi Mate,
Seeing as you have a TZ7, could you answer a few Qs about the video recording?..
Just wondering how straight forward it is to take from the camera onto a computer & onto a DVD, is it just a case of copying a file off the card & pasting onto the computer?
Does the video need...
It's cheaper on amazon (if you got time to buy online)
I'm looking at buying one too, heard good things about them. Seems to get rated pretty highly.
But also read online about problems with the screen cracking... not sure how much of a problem this really is though.
If you not bothered by the...
I've just dug this thread out having searched for this exact camera.
And from your pics it looks good!
I was thinking of getting an SD card Camcorder to replace an old miniDV camcorder.
But i also could do with replacing an aging 4mp camera.
On looking online & this thread i'm wondering...
