Afternoon...
I've been looking into getting a new laptop.
I was aiming to get the 13" Dell XPS (Core2Duo 2ghz, 2gb ram, 128 dedicated gfx, 160gb hard drive, bluetooth etc..)
I've managed to get a price of £675 for that one.
But then i had a look at an equivalent Vostro 1400 & same spec but it...
thinking back.. i've spotted your car down cribbs on more than one occasion :-)
Shopaholic... Hmmm
To be fair, i think i used to see it around by the cinema/fitness first part though.
another vote for the netgear, i have the older version of the one linked above, with a separate Netgear Wireless AP & it's been working perfectly for the many years i have had it.
Hmmm
i like the sound of this one (sorry another Acer, they seem to be sticking out to me!)

but the Graphics part...
ah right, good to know that then, like you i'm quite careful with my stuff, but worth a thought?
Any good/bad reports on ASUS laptops? they seem to be quite good prices.

found that, which sounds ok for the money. although i need Firewire & it doesn't...
I'm now sat here looking at laptops to buy for around the same..

(bit more expensive, but seems a good un)...
probably not alot of help,
but with my previous (old) epson printers, if i didn't use them for quite a while then the print heads block up beyond use.
no amount of cleaning would sort it, and as you have found.. it uses a shed load of ink to do.
I think you can get some cleaning solution type...
nice looking motor.. but then i have recently bought a silver mk4 golf too lol
only mines a tdi :-( wish it looked like that!..
is that the 25th anniversary one?
I used a Denison Ice Link plus in my clio, & worked a treat..
Actually really miss it now i have a different car..
ph-reebone
**i have the Denison sat in it's box if you want it??? (i had a phase 2 172 though, so don't know if it'll fit yours?)
I just swapped to a 2002 golf 1.9 tdi & thats £115 a year to tax!.. nice
Although my 1997 pug 1.9 diesel is £200 (ish)a year to tax.
If registered Before March 2001, tax was worked out on engine size & after/now it's done on emmisions. (so i thought) so if buying an older car go for a small...
Owned a 172 cup for about 2 years (until a few days ago)
I loved it.
Handling was brilliant,
i love the look , although the cup is nicer ;-) sorry (colour & wheels & spoiler)
Brakes were really good, until they corrode & need replacing (after 14k!!!! rear & 21k Front!! appalling...)
Grip, i...
we use flagstone encrypted hard drives.
They have their problems.. you need to remember to diable hibernation as the drives don't support it (locks up & blue screens)
I've heard western digital do a similar product... if you really need to go that far that is.
i got a Denison Ice Link Plus, boxed & in perfect condition that i no longer need if your interested.
As long as you have the same Stereo as a 172 cup??
(tuner list - i think)
pm me if your interested.
I know longer need it since i got rid of the clio yesterday :-( :-( :-(
p.s by the way...
I'm driving my cup to a garage today & driving home in a golf :-( i know i'll miss my clio....
but hey..
got a little baby boy that needs more space now.
Who knows, might get another one, one day.
Hopefully the golf brake discs & steering wheel aren't made of cream cheese..like the clio then...
yep mines the same...
or i should say, was the same.
Just in the process of changing the clio to a golf tdi & thats £63 for 6 months!!
whats happening with the tax in march??? don't tell me.. diesels are going up & petrol coming down! just my luck that.
Denison ice link is what i used... (not cheap mind you)
i'll be selling it aswell if your interested. (if your clio has the same stereo as the 172 cup (which i expect it has)
just plugged the device into CD Changer socket & run the ipod connector into the glove box.. 2min job.
i'll also...
Hi all,
Any of you know if you can buy the denison ice link plus parts separate?
I have one in my clio, but am changing cars, to a golf, don't really want to buy a new one for it if you can change the CD changer cable on it's own??
Anyone...
Otherwise.. anyone wanna buy one??
Deal done!..
getting the golf all serviced & MOT'd up all niggly bits i found sorted out & he's giving 6k for mine.
Was budgeting on spending £200 on mine this month with MOT & Tyres, so don't need that now.
I will miss the cup but hey ho. i did like the golf too, in a different way.
Just needs...
^^ yeah, i think the same will happen here..
We've got 2 3door cars at the moment & getting a baby seat in the back isn't good!!.. (i did my back in last year & it's still not good!)
Also the clio fornt seat needs ot be right forward for it to fit lol.
I'm not a fan of big cars, but golf size...
it's actually a vauxhall franchise in bristol.
an old mate of mine used to work in there.. shame i don't still know him :-(
another thing, my car needs an MOT in 2 weeks which will need 2 tyres..
damn it's sounding better & better ...
think i'll have to get the mrs to do the deal, don't...
Just went & drove the car & it's very nice. (for a sensible car!)
The price vs mileage around this area seems about right from what i've seen. The majority have 100k+ on & not much cheaper going private.
Found a few probs on it, cracked wing mirror & broken arm rest in the front. & a scuff on...
I thought it sounded ok,
Just sad to have to swap a newer lower mileage car that i've really looked after for that.. but ya gotta do what you gotta do i suppose..
There's always the thought of keeping the clio & changing our old p reg pug for the golf.. but not really the right time to be...
Hi all,
The time has come to chop in the clio for a more practical/5 door car (will have a baby soon!!
(53 plate 172 cup, 23.5k with Climate)
I found a 02 plate golf gt tdi 130 for 7k at a local garage (the mrs had a quick look today & liked it) only thing is it's got 84k on the clock (is that...
