I picked Maldonado as my rival, into my second season now with Williams. I like the professional setting much better now. Just done qualifying at Melbourne and will be starting 12th.
I accepted the immediate offer off TR, had one race on professional and changed to legend. Much more realistic. Getting a bit sick of rain at nearly every race though.
I had a really good race in career at Spa last night. Qualified 23rd in the Torro Rosso due to dry set up and wet quali. I had hoped for a full dry race and I got it. After the first lap I managed to get up to 15th, I started on the prime tyres and was struggling to keep up with my TM Ricciardo...
Yeah I finished well at Valenica. The professional difficulty is having the AI raised by 2.5 secs per lap apparently. They need a legend setting on Champions mode etc as its too easy. All updates that the PC version has had are coming to consoles. Just wish it would come sooner.
I played on this last night up to Hockenheim in the Marussia and finished 10th, got my set up spot on (plus Button, Vettel, and 2 others retiring). After the race I got offered a contract with Torro Rosso, which was to start immediately?! I accepted as I'd had enough of the Marussia. So straight...
Granted i was in a Marussia LOL, they are awful to play with. I think I finished in 15th on Legend and that was with Alonso, Grosjean and Hulkenberg retiring. My straight line speed, also with no KERS was shockingly slow.
They need to sort the handling out for Canada, you cannot attack the kerbs through the chicanes like last year, and the AI seem to be really fast through them.
The turn in was better in 2011, but i've adjusted to 12 now and changing the setup help a little. A patch will be released soon which is supposed to sort the handling. I've finished champions mode on hard and was pretty easy imo. Doing season mode too on hard and i'm in a McLaren already after 6...
2012 is better than 2011 so personally I wouldn't bother.
I think you have to have beaten your rival before Brazil as thats the deadline for accepting any offers. In my 5 year season I went from Lotus(Caterham), Force India, Ferrari, then to McLaren for the last two. I won every race in the...
Have to agree with the penalties, I was up to 10th in my Marussia in Bahrain, Vettel tries to squeeze himself through a gap on my inside going through a right hander (I'm on the racing line), he hits me and spins. I get a drive through!!! Ended up 18th!
I find driving in the wet very good. It is much easier this year to regulate the throttle on the PS3 pad. I have TC off and can manage fine. It's trying to drive a Marussia with bad handling thats the problem lol
Finished my 2nd race in career with Marussia, qualified 17th and finished in the same place. Did manage to get up to 5th on the first lap though and held off the others for nearly 10 laps but fell well down after my tyres went away. I am finding the professional difficulty a bit too easy and...
I was on the codies forum last night and they are going to be updating the steering issue. I'm guessing in the first patch. I had a blast at champions mode last night which is good but even on hard it wasnt much of a challenge.
It's not that bad to stop you buying it. You do get used to it and the setup changes to increase turn in help but it's not as good 2011. Overall the game is better than 11 imo. Hopefully Codemasters will make some changes in a patch.
Not sure on the smoking?
Yeah the steering is very frustrating this year, I'm using the PS3 pad and the inputs in steering no matter what you do with the setup is very limited and makes you slow when the AI seems to cope perfectly.
Finished Australia in 15th got overtaken on the pit straight of the last lap by Di Resta. I have to say tyre wear seems ok. Although you can push hard all the time and they degrade at the same rate. We had 3 DNF's in my race so I'd have finished lower down if not.
Yeah Chris,
Decent game but could and should have been a lot better. Very annoyed about the way CM didnt tell us about what features had been removed and no proper tyre wear.
As said in earlier post, handling has got worse, YTD is pointless and is aimed very much at newcomers. Real F1 fans...
My copy came yesterday, I have to say the game is better than I thought. The YDT is something you'll do once and never again. Practices need to be patched in IMO. The gameplay is good, but the steering is not as good as 2011. It seems to limit the amount of steering input you can put in. You...
