a super charger is oil cool like a turbo, but the main diffrence is thats it run off the crank via a belt in most cases, this is why you produce more torque with them, as it works to suck the air in as soon as you touch the throttle where as with a turbo, the turbine takes time to spin up. very...
mate ive been putting it off for the same reason but i just thought sod it ill go for it, use 1500 and 2000 grade wet and dry paper, belive me pal it will work a dream, its fine enough to wipe your ass with dont you worry
ide go with some 40mm springs first and see what you think, any lower and youll be looking at changing your shocks, plus you get a really hard ride, mines only 40mm, looks a good hight, but its also practical, non of this clenching cheeks buissness when going over speed bumps.
lol yeh mine wernt to bad but it was the deep scraches on them i was most please about getting out, looked like someone had had a go on them with a wire brush lol
Well since as the sun was out, and ive been meaning to clean up my head lights using the methods ive seen on here, and i must say the results are amazing! spent about £20, on some 1500 wet and dry, 2000 wet and dry, t-cut and some super resin polish.
i must say my headlights wernt to bad but...
a good fix for this is remove the pads, and give them a slight rub down with some fine grade paper, to remove the glase that will have formed, then take a file and chamfer the edges to reduce it happening again, its what we used to to when i worked at Audi, but it all really depends on your pad...
not getting no lights on the dash tho, it drives fine with no issues just wonderd if anyone else had had the same issue and had an idea what it could be but thanks, ill look into having it checked
go for the mk2 ph1 1.6 RSi you can pick them up for under a grand, and are a really nice car, half leather seats, alloys, air con, cheap on insurance, and very nippy
my car is idleing at only 750rpm when the engine is warm, when cold its between 1200-1500 rpm, not a huge issue but once warm it idle's abit lumpy, is there an easy way of adjusing it?
mines abit like that, but only if i hit bumps when breaking, my car is lowered so it rides harder and doesnt absorb the bumps as well makes it abit skitty on bumpt roads. has yours been lowered?
my headlights have the yellow haze on them, i dont want to spend loads on buying new headlights.
im not sure what i need, i know i need wet and dry paper, plus some polish, but what grade wet and dry paper do i need, and is it normal polish or T-cut?
lol its all part of the fun :) untill it gets expensive, head gaskets aint a massive job so should be to expensive, but on the other hand it could be nothing. i would defo recomend getting the coolong system pressure tested to be safe tho.
coolant when it burns usual smells sweet, sounds like your head gasket may have gone internaly, check your coolant level and pressure test your cooling system and see if it holds its pressure.
doing an engine swap is pretty easy, the hard bits getting it legal and insured, not usualy worth the hassel. thats if your going to be all legit about it ;)
