This thread was originally for my 1.2 but I ended up taking the 172 there when I got it. 4 wheel laser alignment, camber/castor etc setup and he raised the front a wee bit for me while it was there. £65 all in was not too shabby IMO.
They'd be miles better off chucking a couple of hundred quid at a proper detailer to do it inside and out top to bottom, least it will last a bit longer.
Liquid yellow is a 3 stage mate, not sure about the rest of them.
Ford Electric Orange (ST colour) is also a 3/4 stager, so the green could be aswell, generally the "special" colours like that are.
It'll be easy enough to spray, as long as it's a bit for your Clio. If it's a bit for a Focus then it won't match worth a fook out a rattle can. It's probably also a 3/4 stage pearl so I'm not sure how that will work with rattle cans.
Check all the fuses under the bonnet aswell if you haven't already.
Reason I said check the UCH is because my mate once accidentally kicked one of the relays out, ended up with no dash lights or rear lights. No idea how to check if they're buggered or not so can't help you any further than that...
It all depends on your taste tbh matey. There are people running 25mm per side spacers on the front of their 172s, although you'll then have to either not lower it/have very very stiff coilovers/a lot of neg camber to stop it rubbing on the outer edge of the arch.
If you're completely slamming it you'll ruin the handling anyway so I wouldn't worry about spacers. They don't rub on the inside anyway, it's usually the outer edges of the arch, so spacers will just make it worse.
Yep definitely missing the alarm sensor, as I said that round yellowy plastic thing sitting in your grill, that's where the alarm sensor should sit. It's a grey plastic circle with a black nib sticking out of it.
That pic you just posted up - where the white plug type thing is on your grill, that's where the alarm sensor sits if it's a standard Renault item. That hanging wire doesn't look the standard connector to me though :S Has it definitely got an alarm?
Don't bother buying anything just now, save your cash and wait for some cheap/second hand coilovers and deck it. If I could redo my old 1.2 all over again the first thing I'd do is put it on coilies.
