Serves him right for driving like that on the road - THE END. I have no sympathy for him at all.
If he had nicked it or hurt somebody he should have got more, probably think twice about doing it again.
Oh and everybody would be happy with paying about 50% less insurance.
Some answers on here...
Re: FAO the mechanical minded Dan/Fred/chip . full front end suspension rebuild HEL
Just do it roughly by sight, lining front wheels to back or even a piece of string held at the back of the rear wheel then put to front of the front wheel. Similar principle to a plumbline.
Are you saying there's one y splitter and then another y splitter off that. Pretty sure it helps if your broadband is plugged in on the first. You also need a microfilter plugged in first in your phone line socket. Unplug your Sky+ as said above.
That XR2 was one of my favourites of the day, reminded me of my blue one from 20 odd years ago:(
Engine bay was spotless and presume 5 speed conversion as had Mk2 gear stick. Don't know about other mods but it wasn't exactly standard under the bonnet.

Perhaps responsive rather than twitchy would be a better description. I think I know what Blackgold is saying but at times its difficult not to totally transfer the weight or under very heavy braking with a bit of a kink in the track then the rear can feel lively and connected and if you weren't...
Stiffer is nearer the bar itself i.e. nearer the front of the car. If you put in on the further ones there is obviously a bit more flex in the bar. Yes it can be twitchy but that keeps you alert ;)
i don't want to sound funny but without proof, presume nothing has been done. One of my previous cars had a Kent Cams sticker in the engine bay, the trader kept pushing it had them, I asked could he prove it. No!
Without receipts only way is rollers or compare to another.
