Last night had 2 mixed games...one where I got 26 for 8, then got 2 for 19...WTF??!!? Been mixing up the LMGs...good to try new ones, and giving the m60 a bit of a rest.

Yeh machine gun on tanks is awesome...as you only need to concentrate on firing, not moving. I am quite accurate with it too and can knock up a few kills. Last night I got owned though, one point went to fire my pistol...but had tracers equipped. Safe to say, I lost that fight!

Does anyone know how you get a platinum star? I've got like 6 or 7 gold stars for the m60...if you need to get 10 that's a bloody mission!!!

That video is ok but nothing "WOW" about it in my opinion, it's more to do with enemies standing out in the open rather than anything else, if you are elevated above enemies it's a lot easier to score headshots. Plus with montages...you could probably take any player and edit the good bits...

I think some people think "it's not set in a real life war zone, therefore it's for kids" ...SO UNTRUE. The mechanics are the most solid in any FPS I've played. The beta for this was better than 90% of full games. The online is truly epic.

Had some good games last night. Val Pareiso was fun. I was attacking at one point so as a Recon went to the lighthouse and was getting loads of kills and mortaring their stations. They were getting annoyed and tried to be sneaky by stealing our chopper then landing on the roof and at the bottom...

No one likes a show off Darren!!! ha. Atacama is a weird one for vehicles, but again quite easilly someone could have put a mortar on you and game over. It's just the opposition not learning from their errors really I guess.

Pistols are good, but to be honest most people only use them in close quarters - I'd prefe an assault rifle though, put it that way. No way as unbalanaced as some secondary weapons on MW2 though (dual shotguns which kill from halfway across the level, anyone?) I use the machine pistol now though...

Why use them? Clearer stereo sound (really does help in sneaking up on people, hearing them approaching you, oncoming vehicles, direction of bullets etc) Also chat is a lot clearer - sound and voice is independently adjustable. I don't play without mine now, even for single player games.

I've got TB X31s which are wicked, however think they retial for around £100 so look for some off eBay, some good deals for second hand ones which should be fine.

Randomly was playing Rush last night and a new map came up (well new mode to Rush anyway!) set in the snow, recognise it from Conquest...one where you are battling through a snowy village. Was this from the patch / map pack v4? If so it's weird how this is the first time I played it on Rush...

Darren...UAV is used for scouting and comes with a missile (takes about 30 secs to reload). If you have alt weapons you also get a machine gun, but it's good with smoke as you can create decent cover around the MComs. Me and my friend load it with 6 C4s and fly it into the base and explode it...

I did the assault class first but engineer is probably easier to rank up with - wait until you get the repair you can get loads of points, and mines are wicked too for big points with the explosives upgrade. Medic is probably the easiest to rank up with overall though...

Re: Battlefield 3 What is different between Bad Company and the "main" series? Bad Company is pretty realistic when I got it I thought it might be an OTT alternative as Red Alert is to Command & Conquer.
