I think for value you can fault a MK1 172 atm. Reliability will be pot luck. Might be worth changing the clutch cable, with you finding it stiff, although they do tend to be stiff by nature. The reason the tuning mods are expensive is that the they give good gains, were as the clio mods are...

I agree as far as the Vee is concern... but cant agree that putting your money into a 106 is a good idea

my 12 had it, bud didnt have cruise, however, it does break the speed limiter on the cuise on my 182.
