My New 172! + comparison with Cup

  X-172 Cup
Oh my god what an epic...6 hours on the M6:S  :S - enjoyed the toll road then just after the end of it, it was 5mph all the way to the Stoke turn-off - I usually come off at the Stoke North turnoff but from what I heard on the radio it was closed:eek: + I'd had enough...anyway the Car feels good and you can tell it's been looked after, not as sharp as the Cup but not as harsh either, a bit more refined and quieter, feels slower but in gear times especially 1st & 2nd seem quicker and there's definately at least another 500 or so RPM at the sharp end of things, the limiter hasn't kicked in but it was well in the red at over 7000 rpm which is more than Cup ever got taken too but it feels like you need a few more revs to get to the juicy power, where is the rev limiter on these? no torque steer or bad behaviour but I kind of miss that, nice to have air con, nice seats and 6xCD, wheels feel weird having been on wider tracked Turini's but overall very pleased to have another Renaultsport back on the drive + have 3 grand in the bank

Good Choice sunshine. You wont regret it.

Just need some Ph-Quick stickers for it now

One good thing about smaller wheels: Cheaper tyres.

And actually, if they are thinner, less traction = more slidey slidey naughty behaviour :D

I've got some 195/50/15's in Conti spec if your interested.

Enjoy though what do you think of the throttle pedal being as its a proper wire?

^ I thought the throttle pedal was crap but have lubed the cable and it feels pretty good now - the clutch cable feels aweful, need to know how to lube that...the clutch operation is fine, in fact it changes gear better than the Cup but the cable needs some oil somewhere..any advice Ed?

I'm OK for tyres - 2 fronts are new and the rears have about 4mm on
