Well i thought by not using the other poor scart and puttin the dvd in by component cables i wouldnt have this problem ... But i do ... I think the key is that on anything other than av1 the cable picture settings dont have an affect
nope it cant be that, cos when i connect cable->dvd->tv using scarts, and connect them to AV1 the picture is good
its a Panasonic DIGA DVD HDD Recorder 80Gb, cost about £200
i am doing now, ive got the TV scart out on the cable box into AV1 on the TV which shows good picture
however, when viewing cable through the DVD/HDD Recorder, which is connected to the TV using component leads, the picture is not as good and when i change the picture settings on the cable box...
it is, it is plugged directly into the TV, and through the DVD HDD Recorder aswell
i have done this so that if we want to record normal TV on the DVD HDD Recorder, we can still watch cable, otherwise we wouldnt be able to, would we ?
right, the TV has 2 scart inputs, amongst other inputs, originally i had it connected like this
AV1
Cable Box->DVD HDD Recorder->TV
AV2
Cable Box->TV
all using similar quality scart leads
AV1 gave better cable picture than AV2, so i decided to connect the cable box directly to the TV...
when we got our new LCD TV i connected it all up and noticed that the cable tv looked better when viewed through our DVD HDD Recorder to TV, than using the AV that was direct to the cable box
i presumed from info on AV Forums that only one of the scart connections on the TV was a 'good' one, so...
yup we have moved the TV back a bit now, and the chair further away from it, and it does look a lot better and being bigger than our last TV you can see everything very easily
i might ring telewest/virgin though and tell them their supply is crap
not at the moment no but im trying to get my dad to get HD cable
and the reason we bought it was because we wanted a new bigger tv, and the old one wouldnt let you switch between AV's when the new dvd recorder we bought was turned on which meant we could only watch what we were recording
i...
much or not at all ?
my family on my dads side are pro photographers so i have got a bit of an eye for image quality and i tend to spot anything that isnt right
do you get this with Plasma aswell ?............ive been told its because the TV is so much better than a CRT it shows up any bad parts of the image whereas the CRT wouldnt because its not as good
this tv is £1000 in Argos, though we paid £600, if this is the kind of TV you get for £1k then...
im new to TV stuff, we havent had a new TV for years
got a Panasonic LCD TV today, 32"
im gettin like noise/artifacts around things, and the pic quality is better when cable is viewed coming through the DVD recorder/HDD we have
ive been on AV Forums and they have suggested messing with the...
well the TV we were looking at, Panasonic 32" LCD - TX-32LXD60, thats £1000 in the new Argos catalogue, in Comet its £800, we have just ordered it half an hour ago for £590 delivered
looked at quite a few, saw an LG in Tesco recently which was dreadful compared to, well, anything really, it...
you cant go wrong with Crucial memory, im not into computers like i used to be, but i used to be into overclocking in a big way and the crucial stuff was always very reliable stuff which you could push
its whats in my system now and unless i hear bad about them ill always use it, good prices...
the only real difference between the Nuvi and the c series is that the Nuvi is a very slim unit, the c series will eventually be phased out by Garmin so im told and they will stick to the Nuvi in future, but, that could be just one bloke who works for thems idea and not reality
depends on the prices at the time, as they are very similar in terms of ease of use etc
the battery life and the company pedigree with GPS systems would swing it for me towards a Garmin if the prices were the same, but if a Tom Tom was say £50 cheaper than the similar Garmin id buy the Tom Tom...
most people will have a Tom Tom because they got in first with the big advertising campaigns, im sure you would be more than happy with one, they are good units, just personally i am used to Garmins and i dont think anything can beat them, sometimes however with price wars being so common on sat...
also, Tom Tom usually only have a 4 hour life if i remember right, the Garmins have an 8 hour life and Garmin have been doing GPS based systems for shipping, aviation etc before Tom Tom was even thought of
not that the Tom Toms are bad units, they are decent sat navs as long as you get a good...
ive tried a c510 in a new mondeo recently and it worked perfectly, the couple were worried about it so we tried it, no problems at all
the Nuvi is basically the same but thinner, so its a better unit, however, the c510 new stock has speed cameras on it, the Nuvi 300 probably wont though you...
