i can only speak from my experience but i was in exactly the same postion as you recently. wanted to go lower with 15s but only road driving. i came into the hands of some almost new vmaxx's and fitted them last week. first impressions were they did feel more bouncy than what i had on...
Yesterday myself, chris, (One in a million) his gf katie and joe (jrs192) took a drive down to dungeoness. the weather was tip top which made it all the better. :cool...
1st spot was ly200 with cup spoiler heading towards m11 roundabout
2nd was rb182 with stripes about 10 cars behind, both seen around 4pm
3rd was another r8182 (no stripes) heading towards old Harlow around 6pm
Lastly was an arctic blue 182 near Toby carvery/train station around 9pm
Cheers for all the cool comments guys :D
I did have a few fans of my old standard wheels by the looks of things so it's nice to hear feedback whether it be positive or negative.
Spoiler has a strip of red tape on the top (originally stolen from banderson) ;)
I swapped my old 182 wheels...
cheers al. tbh honest i havent taken it out for a "proper drive" yet as it need to be aligned. as soon as i do i will let you know.
chrispy, i know its common but these came up in a good deal and i coudnt turn them down.
Cheers guys. :)
cheers guys :) its always nice to receive good feedback.
gaz-kev, you could of chose a better pic (lack of tyre shine, unclean :rasp:)
adam, i actually prefer the chrome badge....... at the mo!
oliver, i wanted it lower but not impractical. i can still get over speedbumps ok so its a win for...
thanks for all the positive comments guys!
coilovers of choice are vmaxx's. not too sure how much its lowered by but it sits 110mm from splitter to the floor
the ride seems bumpier than sportlines but still soft and comfortable for daily driving.
I picked up my new wheels and coilovers yesterday. Managed to get them all fitted today and im very pleased so i thought i'd give it a quick clean and take some picutres. Hope you all enjoy :)
Thanks, Mark.
£210 seems a little much, but i think garages charge i lttile more for fitting if you dont get the tyres from them. i just had some paradas and yes the reviews are spot on. in the dry there is excellent amounts of grip, but in the wet you cant seem to push it as hard as you want. they look cool...
thanks marcus. just trying to do a bit of homework before i dive in. bought some spring compressors the other day and now have all the tools for the job.
thats good to know. ive got a few speed bumps around my street so i can set it, then drive around the block testing ground clearance etc before alignment.
i had a local formula one centre do my car recently (lowered on sportlines) with wheel alignment and i thought they did the camber too but...
im going to be fitting my vmaxx coilovers tomorrow. i have never done this before after checking the guide on here it seems quite straight forward. (fingers crossed) once the ride height is sorted and all bolts done up etc it will be aligned. is this something that a normal garage can do...
Re: All Pearl Black's & Black Gold's Look....
my 182 with my now "old" standard wheels. will get some new pics with 2118s on once we've lowered it. :)
im in the south east also.
yes mate, travelled to newcastle to get them though. but i got them silly cheap so it was worth it. the bloke didnt declare the few scuff on the backs so i got more money off, hence the want to carbon wrap.
mike_rs, did you just stanley blade around the edges to get a smooth finish? i normally...
just seen you new seat update. great mod imo. looks and feels so much better than standard. i'll give you a hand mate. think im going to do this to mine as it will hide some of the scratches, plus it looks great. might have to trial test it on mine firstly.....just in case
its quite forgiving stuff rob. i carbon wrapped all my bits inside and out on my car before i got the real stuff and it peels off with no probs and doesn't leave any residue.
was in london last week with a friend and pulled at a kerb and this plonker in a corsa (coulnt have been more than 19yr old) said to my friend "what power is that mate" the reply was "about 180" (clio 182) only for the knob to say back "hmm, i would race ya but i dont want to lose my licence!"...
