No it's not and no you don't. Iirc vvt kicks in at 1800, and is retained if selecting the correct cams which allow you to.

Nothing wrong with the ones from ebay, just cheaper thats all. Had mine for about 3 years, still going strong, and you get the same sort of warranty aswell. Your money though :rolleyes:
