Well I am pretty sure the end results will justify the means. Wish I could get a truly flawless look but alas my car sits outside and is used on a daily basis so not really practical - I have to do 8 hour stints in the cold and all my neighbours thinking I am nuts.
I swear if I hear "you can...
When you say 3 weeks Rich... I would like to hope you have been doing other things in the middle. Eating, sleeping etc....?!
Must be looking cracking. Lusty - think you might get served mate! :)
Good work... they do look like fun!
Its a shame you feel let down by one of the sites listed on here, all those I use (Polished Bliss, Clean Your Car, Car Wash n Wax) offer excellent service and advice. Without naming and shaming why do you feel let down may I ask? :S
OCDs are a God send when it comes to detailing though which is what I have, it compels you to need to clean the most inaccessible parts which may take hours and no make much difference to the look of your car. But over time doing lots of seemingly pointless tasks all add up - I think the more...
Yeah that is the worst thing about buying a Renault Sport... it is a Renault! My car touch wood has been fine so far, but many aren't so lucky. The network though is an absolute joke - I don't have a single positive thing to say about it! They seem reluctant to sell you a car, and when you want...
Granted, I never let a manufacturer's information sheet sway me too much, especially after that BHP report out a while ago - the RR Sport is apparently 60-80 BHP less than advertised which is completely ridiculous if true.
I have driven an R26 and thought it was a great car, not had the...
I wasn't disputing their looks, rarity or sound... but the R26 is a much better handling car due to the rear slip differential. Again, not saying the V6 is bad just that there are better performing cars out there for the money. For £15k I could get an older E46 M3... but given the choice I would...
Make sure you do, a decent wax will still look pants if you don't get the paint polished well to begin with.
Don't have the Onyx myself but think I will get some once my 50/50 runs out. They should make half sized pots for half the price - otherwise you just end up with loads. I have so many...
Basically yeh! Obviously not slow compared to a 1 litre Clio, but considering it is a mid engined car not blistering performance which the looks suggest.
For £15k, which is the average cost or thereabouts for a decent second hand one, there are a lot of decent alternatives. A brand new R26...
Quick detailer - the Chemical Guys ones are all pretty good. Like the Sonus ones too, which are available from Clean Your Car. Just wipe over with a mf cloth after washing to refresh the waxes looks.
Clay!
Depending on how bad it is either get the standard grey one or the milder Sonus green.
In the mean time though get the bird poo off as it will be eating into the paint - every minute counts!
Take your wheels off - first try AG Engine and Machine Cleaner. Failing that I would try some white spirit, the solvent in there should break down all but the toughest of paints. After wiping over liberally and leaving for a few minutes, use an abrasive sponge with more AG Engine and Machine...
Yeah nothing is worse than having gleaming paintwork and dull brown tyres!
I highly recommend Blackfire tyre gel available from Polished Bliss, quite expensive for tyre gel but it does show.
Haha I do a little twirl now and then whilst filling my buckets ;)
As for the rubber allergy - same here! I wear a pair of cotton gloves I bought from my local pharmacy underneath now, especially if my skin has got bad. Works really well. Rubber gloves by themselves are poor anyway as they...
Haha... lazy guy! :approve:
Yeh definitely make a huge impact - even on my car which only had minor swirls before PCing it made a huge impact. As Rich said, if you have a black car then a PC is essential if you want the paint in perfect condition.
Once you have done it and sealed it up nicely...
I spy a nice V6 lurking in the background too in one of those shots, whose is that?! Saw one again the other day - even though they are impractical, not that fast or great handling they are still so sexual. Would love to get one some day...
I have had the problem on and off for about 7 years now. Seems to be on holiday when it flares up, think it is a combination of exotic sun oils and chlorine... when it dies down I forget about it but when it gets bad it is horrible, can't use my hand for anything. The doctor gave me a MJ style...
EGP every 3 months or so, SRP every 6 month or so. Clay as necessary, if you use a Sonus Green clay you could in theory do it every week if you wanted, but in practice always a risk of micro swirls so twice a year should be fine, perhaps do it each time you intend using SRP.
I would but they are for pussies! :rasp: No I have started to, just find them harder to work with. Have developed really bad skin condition on my hand though, don't think car products have caused it but definitely aggravate the situation. Got a bit better at the moment but a few weeks ago it...
Although, I have some serious dermetitis on my left hand which is either the result of contact with car care products or too much wanking! Probablythe former though. I hope...
