Right, just spoke to the garage again. They reckon that Renault have changed the exhaust design on CS subsequent to my model being produced, from originally an all-in-one piece design, to a two-piece design. Can anyone verify this?
They reckon it is now going to cost £369 inc. VAT and labour...
I don't see how these can cost so much really. I think they might serve a purpose if you are doing a few cars at a time and don't want to keep filling up buckets with products, but if you use the 2-bucket method There never seems much grit in the "dirty" bucket, let alone the one with product...
It does give a great gloss and shine, but mutes the metallic flake a bit. It is great for protection, and in the winter when there is no sun out, it doesn't really matter as you can't appreciate the flake either. It is what I use, 2 or 3 coats though rather than just the 1. Coupled with the...
I think 50/50 provides excellent looks and good protection for the money, I would recommend it for all colours. Even the XXX Hardcore wax is good looks wise, although the protection it provides isn't great. Fine for summer use though.
P21s is good but I have only used it on a blue car, not...
Cool cheers for the help guys. I think if I had the luxury of time I would get an aftermarket exhaust but as I just need to get back on the road, will just get it from this place. Might be able to wangle a trade discount though on the plus side.
Hi guys
Not really as into the mechnical side as some of you guys so really hoping someone can help me out. My 53 plate Clio has decided that it is time for my exhaust to break (whilst on a dual carriageway, not cool!)
I have taken it to a local garage, who intend to order me a straight...
Whole article on Meguiars and there new polisher in the new March edition of BMW Car Club for anyone that is interested...says they should be available here by June.
You are trying to sell your product though man, which kind of does make you a salesman. I agree a few people seem to try and wind you up on purpose now, just don't rise to it I suggest.
There seems to be a use for your product, I would guess for people who care about their car but may not...
Yeh OCD here too. I just wished it stopped at the car...
My mate is getting a new Meg R26 next month in black so I am looking forward to doing a bit of work on there. Be interesting to see what the paint is like when it is delivered, I have seen some absolute shockers go out "as new" before...
No it is much better in the summer, when you clean your car, you can actually drive around and not have mud plastered up the side, muddy footprints getting in and out, rain when you open the doors, tyre dressing coming off, water marks. Just plenty of UV rays, tree sap, dried on insects and...
Yeh more wax should be fine, although never used Speedwax myself, should be ok.
If you want maximum protection, I have to recommend Collinites 476, 2 or 3 coats of that will last you absolutely ages in terms of protection, and then all you need is a nice QD after washing. You can also use...
A polish will remove any wax, so unless you are planning to reapply everything again, don't bother!
Either top up with a QD or rewax, although you shouldn't need to do this so soon again. However, people quite often build up layers of wax so no harm in doing this if you want to.
Totally depends on what you want. Most cars sit all their lives on a drive with no protection at all, the main thing is you have protected with wax (which one did you use?)
If it is freshly waxed and some water has got on there, a wipe over with a microfibre towel and some QD should be fine at...
