Also I didn't need to use a CLIP tool to turn the cc on - once you install the cruise switch, if your car can have cc retrofitted then SET comes up on the speedo and the small cc icon lights up on the dashe. Once you install the rest of the required bits (clock spring, steering wheel buttons...
Same pump for front/rear washers - if the rear is working then the motor is fine but the small rubber valve that sends the water front/back has swollen. There is an easy fix for it and a thread on it here - just need to trim the rubber a bit and all will work ok again.
I did this recently on my 2002 172 - you should be all good to go for CC if the SET and dash light came on, but you will need a new clock spring - also called a squib ring/wheel adapter - with the extra loom for the buttons, the steering wheel buttons, and a clutch switch.
