To get CC to work I had to change the dash switch panel and add the cc/limiter switch, add the clutch switch/sensor, change the clock spring (to one with the extra plug for the steering wheel buttons), add the steering wheel cc buttons and I also fitted an airbag from a 182 (which already has...
Hi
Had DS2500's (FCP565H) fitted on the front along with new front rotors and bedded brakes in as directed. Have now got a squeak coming from the passenger side front when not on the brakes and at all speeds but it isn't constant and comes'n'goes. Symptoms include:
- sound is a...
Does anyone know if it is possible to fit 182 driveshafts and hubs onto a Ph2 172?
I know 182 driveshafts won't fit onto a 172 due to the driveshaft cv/hub end being different (location of abs ring etc), but if you were to fit 182 hubs then the 182 driveshafts should fit yes?
I assume the 182...
Cheers Tony - I should've said 'Surely people who have tracked/raced 172's have possibly come across this issue at some point?'
As I said it doesn't seem to be a consistent issue, even amongst those who do get it they often run varying amounts of camber before they strike it.
I assume if you...
Hmmm... from reading various threads on here I am pretty sure people have experienced this problem.
Surely people who have tracked/raced 172's have come across this issue at some point?
Have people had any experience with having driveshafts shortened on Clios?
Any feedback most appreciated :)
I have the dreaded driveshaft knocking on my 2002 FF172 and I've been damn near tearing my hair out.
I was experiencing it with -1.5degrees camber on high load left hand corners - awful, awful feeling. I have been speaking to people over here in Oz about it, there are a few guys here on OzRS...
Did you get used bits for the cc install, like a second hand squib ring? Is it possible that the wiring is damaged somewhere and that isn't getting power to the steering wheel buttons?
No - cruise function will not but the speed limiter function will ie. you can limit your speed to 40mph but you can't set your speed to 40mph. You will need the clutch swich for cruise control to work...
Not that I am questioning you Mick as you are are WAAYYYYY more knowledgeble than I about Clio's, but I was under the assumption that if you have the wiring/plug behind the light dimmer/esp panel and when you plug in the cruise/limiter switch the cruise light comes up on the dash and SET on the...
Not trying to be funny, but you did plug in the clutch switch yeah? IIRC you can use the speed limiter without the clutch switch being fitted/plugged in, but not cruise - so see if you can get the speed limiter to work. The steering wheel buttons should work for that as well to enable you to set...
They do look very similar, I remember seeing a set on ebay when looking for parts for my cc retrofit. Don't think the part numbers are the same though - only way would be to try it and see?
I used a large flat head screwdriver to push the wire clips of the airbag - first one was easy but the second was harder and I needed to kind of push down on the airbag while trying to push the clip to the side to allow the wire clip to come undone. Once both clips are clear it should lift off...
Yep sounds like what I had with my 02 non-Cup 172. Speedo was working intermittently, then as exactly as you described it would drop out and the car seemed to pick up a bit - then the needle would come back on again (although the time it took to come back on wasn't consistent).
New speedo...
Yes you can remove the cruise control buttons from the steering wheel - guide here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?337076-Remove-Cruise-Control-buttons-from-RS-steering-wheel
If you don't want the buttons then you could sell them to someone who wants to retrofit CC to their 172...
Hmmm surprised that the pink connector was missing, afaik all the cars that have had the SET and CC dash icon appear have then had the connector already there.
That loom looks like it would fit, you could email the seller with your VIN to check if it does or not - but tbh the only way to know...
Could've been tempermental because of a dodgy clutch switch - I don't think they are too expensive so might be worth getting another one and seeing if it solves it. Perhaps also worth checking that the connection to the switch is secure and hasn't somehow come loose - unlikely but you never know...
Not sure if the clutch switch is specific to the Clio but the part number for it is 7700431512 and is grey in colour.
Look behind the clutch pedal, if it is there you will see it. If not there it is very easy to install - just clips into an existing bracket on the clutch pedal assembly and...
