Well a few jobs have been done now, Dephaser UCH repaired by guy on ebay for £34! ,sent off on a monday and received back on a wednesday repaired!! waterpump cambelt kit done brake fluids dog bone thingy oils coolant filters new pads and disks front and rear new nankang ar1s all round sticker...

7w ouch

we used it on the lotus on some old tyres and it seemed to work ok we think, but had not known anyone else to have used it..

They are two pairs of older 888's that I am thinking of using up. Was going to soften them up to get the last use out of them before ditching.

Thinking of getting some tyre softner for some 888's to see how they do as part worn....any one used it or can recommend a particular make?

just ordered some ar1s, will be interesting to see how they are....315 for 4 delivered...loads around in the 195 50 r15 size

Car is in for service etc next week. And I need to check brakes etc but will try to get there.....will be cars first outing so just need to be sure it will be ok.

Bmw plates were cheaper than Halfords too...go figure

BMW main dealer seem to make better quality plates than Halfords. They don't seem to delamination like Halfords plates. It is probably down to the operative.

Not sure what to recommend for underside. But cover fits like a glove. Perhaps putting itt on some wooden chocks?

As an update I got the Halford advanced one in small for the 172 and I would say it is a perfect fit..will update when we have had bad weather and report back

Many thanks...the engine sounds very sweet but the cam belt was done around 8k mls ago and 5 years so will change everything so that I know it is all sorted from day 1.

I wouldn't know but as long as it's a bit nippy I will be happy. I didn't buy it for outright performance.

It has It has what I described..... A jenvey throttle body. It is a jenvey etcc 70mm throttle body

OK. Many thanks for the feedback. I have around 3-4k in receipts for engine mods so it has had a fair amount of wire done. I will look into the bits you mentioned and see if I can find out more

Some more pics it had a brand new set of brembos boxed which will do nicely when these are worn out

I am going to do a few jobs but would welcome advise on other things to check or get done prior to first track day remove clean check brakes pads and pistons, discs and replace brake fluid oil and filter change clean air filter check strutts for leaks get all wheels balanced check and regap...

Today picked up my 172 cup. Will be using it for track days. It is already prepped for track days and is stripped out with quite a few things done already. So will see what else makes sense to do....but first will be a good service and going over before the first track day.
