Not many Targas around. I did one in Chelmsford a few weeks back. They have another but not till September - http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/TargaRally/Wethersfield15

What area do you live Joe? If you want some form of competition but very limited budget then check out your local 'Motor Club'. Not car clubs with 'Cruzin' mannn or whatever its called. Local 'Motor Clubs' arrange small scale local competitive events - Autosolos (large carpark/airfield 'races')...
Didn't touch the spindle, just filed out the hole in the bush and also through the center of the mount - the mount took a little more filing than the bush.
Yes, jack on sump then on gearbox - don't try to lift them, just take the weight.
a few minutes with a round file and it was on. A fair bit of vibration, I'll re-seat them at some point. I was also a little concerned about losing the square nut that helps locate the engine mount on the new spindle but k-tec told me it should be fine - so we'll see.
A jack under either end to...
I don't know the answer to your question - but Mark Fish is currently doing 10% off cages for cs net members, but get in quick because hes nearly ready to order.
markoc - was that on both the metal/rubber ring part in the first pic and also the main mount body? Did you get the ring (first pic) to sit flush on the base where the spindle meets the 'tripod' part of the gearbox bracket? thanks for your help.
For anyone who has fitted one - I can't seem to get the mount far enough down the spigot/shaft for it to protrude and get the nut on. The mount parts go over the thread but not the main shaft body. (tray removed for clarity)
Any suggestions?
Well, I was after a steering suede steering wheel for a track car - but I have dug out my old Momo Race wheel from a few years back and am considering getting Snappy to retrim it. I also want to feel the material on some different seats and test them for fit/comfort/support. Sometimes its...
Does anybody know of any? I'm in Portsmouth and need to see and touch some stuff that I want to buy/fit so need a showroom/stockist rather than mail order.
Can you fix the tread yourself or would you need the whole job done at a garage? Isn't a helicoil here a head off job? In which case that'll be a few quid probably negating any discount. Those seats are £180 new btw and the 'eibachs' are prob just springs rather than 'suspension'. You could get...
Can any one tell me what the 2 caps/seals on the rhs of the engine/flywheel end in the pic above are called please or what they are for? my lower/front one is leaking.
cheers
I've been looking at these guys recently, I'm in Portsmouth (with T 36/500). Haven't used them yet though.

I haven't posted on this thread before but have read most of it and communicated with Tony a couple of times - and even from my side its been an enjoyable journey! How strange.
Is your journey taking you away from racing for now Jay?
If you're interested in going racing at some point hopefully this thread may be of some use to you. I've started posting here recently as I am converting a Williams 2 to a race car to compete in the Trackday Trophy next year and Team Trophy in subsequent years with a couple of races at the end...
Without wanting to drone on - and be another guy asking questions which in hindsight are obviously from someone uninitiated, I'll give a little explanation.
Owned a Williams for 14 years so know the car (except engine internals) and want to go racing in it - I'm not a mechanic but have done my...
Cornwall, Bristol, Bedford and Birmingham...or Verwood. I think I might need to accept that I have to travel!. Or attempt it myself.
Is it feasible to send the head off for some work, do the cams and/or TB myself etc then get it mapped locally? I've changed a couple of head gaskets in the past...
