I shattered my sump on a rock on a recent rally via a big dent in the sump guard which touched the sump itself. I pulled over and turned off within 200meters of the rock after seeing loads of smoke from oil on the exhaust. The engine was running, it didn't cut out, it was me that turned it off...
I damaged my sump the other day and looking to change it over the next week. Whilst it is off is there any point changing the oil pump whilst I am there?
I don't hear about anyone having problems with oil pumps but just putting the feelers out.
Passenger mirror will adjust in & out (left & right) but not up and down. You can't hear the motor going when trying up and down either. Hasn't worked since I swapped the door (swapped all parts from one to another). There are no obvious connection issues. Anyone come across this before?
Can anyone tell me what length eye bolts are needed? I've got virtually all my parts to go in but don't want to end up with the wrong size and and have to give up and wait another few days.
That would be great if you could let me know the correct length, I've got seats and subframes arriving over next few days so need to order eye bolts and plates. Good luck with the build.
Can you tell me what length harness eye bolts you got and whether they were long enough - I see you mentioned you have to adjust the spreader plates to reach the thread?
I'm asking in this forum as people are more likely to use h&t. Do you experience a slight delay from depressing the throttle to the revs starting to rise? My car has a delay of around half a second, it feels excessive. 182 - so throttle by wire, is this the cause or is it my car?
Different lengths and part numbers are all different. There are lots of posts on here about it.
EDIT: sorry, I may just be adding confusion here. What I should have said is that driveshafts between different models, ph1, ph2, cup, 172, 182 non-cup etc. are a bit of a minefield so be sure you...
The nut you have on top isn't needed either - it is normally used to hold the top mount in place along with the bush iirc but the function is perfromed by the k-tec topmount and new nut supplied (doesn't make a difference that you have it there tho).
