I've got the same coloured car and don't like the boring silver on the wheels. Different tastes obviously. I want mine to go Ford Sparkling Grey. It's a light anthracite colour with lots of shiney bits in it :D
I've got the standard 182 alloys, in Silver. I'm going to filler in a kerb mark on one of the wheels, the rest havn't been kerbed so I'll just flat them back, starting at 600 grit, working my way down to 2400 or something fine, then just few coats of primer, 3 coats of colour and 2, maybe 3...
No problem. There was a list I found with renaults recommended service checks based on mileage but I can't find it now. Was going to base my service on a 50k service.
Old plugs are absolutely f**ked, thread had started to rust somehow and the built in washer was completely brown with rust, aswell as the tips of the plug being completely black. So in went the new plugs, took around an hour 1/2, having to take half the inlet manifold off, also cleaned up the...
Mine were VERY shot. 3rd one especially! That one had quite a bit of surface rust on it. All the tips seemed covered in soot too. Worst I had seen, although I havn't seen that many.
What else should I look out for?
Thanks for the constructive comment. I've noticed the exhaust mounts have perished, especially the left hand one. For now I've just put in an old Socket and cable tied it in place, good temporary measure. I must admit the brakes were quite spongy when I got it, but over time and heavy braking...
I'd love to race it, never been on track before though so I'm VERY scared. I think first time I'll just trot along not trying to be an overtaking hero and learn how the car handles. Don't want to absolutely thrash it though until I get the belt done. I'll see if I can make it down though to see...
Definitely! Found a lot of stuff out, especially problems :D I already know a few CS members from other enthusiast forums and they've been very helpful.
Well it was serviced at 12k, I got the car at 28k so it needed one now. I've changed the spark plugs for the correct NGK ones and I'll do an oil change this weekend hopefully.
Trying to find a standard airbox though so I can put in a uprated panel filter
I will do! Thanks. Unfortunatly I had troubles with the exhaust, it sheered clean off after the Cat to Silencer join and had to get that welded up. Tthe warranty didn't cover it as it's natural wear and tear, only cost £20 though.
I'll get a progress thread up once I've done the cambelt, I...
Thanks!
I've obviously been reading the forums and checking this thread every so often, I just don't see the point in posting to get flamed at, are the majority of the people on the forum just ignorant dicks? I have had the car 2 weeks now, got a fantastic quote on getting the belts done and...
Who was it? Saw it parked up by a pub just now, by the roundabout as you enter the highstreet.
Only noticed it because of the white wheels, then noticed the cliosport sticker
Just seemed like it, hole in the bottom of the manifold. I used NGK-PFR6E 10. Same ones as already in the car, and recommended by a lot of people. Cost me £42 but fitted myself.
Changed spark plugs! stupid design inlet mani! Also, I think I noticed what looks like a built in restrictor on the top manifold, a hole that goes to the top of the cam cover that does nothing.
I can definatly feel the VVT kick in at around 5k RPM, comes in nice and strong in the low gears but doesn't feel the same in 3rd/4th, that's when he's gone. Just a small issue, nothing series I hope.
I think I'll end up with a RS192 system then, I've had a look at the others and they're all...
Thanks for that! Their write up really sold it to me, although that's what they're going for I guess. Their gains seem a little optimistic though. Had a little listen on YouTube and they sound impressive too, loud enough to know it's there which is what I was going for.
I'll have a look into a...
Yea I'm reading that at the moment, worth it just for the guides and buying items!
Anyone have experinces with the RS192 exhaust. I was reading this: http://www.rs192.co.uk/page1.htm and it all sounded really impressive.
