I was in renault parts the other day and noticed an arm rest for sale but it didnt say which car it was for ( helpful! ) anyway it got me thinking that this might be quite a nice thing to have in the clio so I was wondering if anyones fitted one in theirs as I see you can get them online for...
Spotted a dark blue clio 172 ( i think! ) on the A37 coming through temple cloud tonight.
The car was on a 51 plate and looked pretty standard from what I could tell but was in great condition.
Anyone on here?
without replying to everyone who commented on this thread i thought it would be easier to put one message one instead for all to read.
Just to say a big thankyou to all who commented and for all ur help & advice. I picked up the new aux belt & tensioner kit from Renault yesterday and it has...
Thats great thanks again for all ur help guys,
Cant believe the difference in the pics between yours & my one!
Cant believe how lucky i was to notice it really, could have gone at anytime i guess.
I'll be getting them to leave that sound deadening off as well next to the belts! bit close...
This might sound a really REALLY stupid question but if the tensioner breaks how does that cause the gap between the tensioner & the belt to get as close as it is now?
Thanks again for all ur feedback guys! :D
I know its a long shot but just for comparison could someone take a pic showing the aux tensioner & the belt on their car so i can see what the gap should be like.
PLS PLS PLS
I dunno i'm gonna pop round and see them about it first thing on monday but i'm not sure if they 'have' to replace the tensioner if asked to do the aux belt.
I did give them instructions to do whatever was required & remember asking if they did the tensioners which one of the other guys said...
Just been looking on K-tecs site & can see they do a collection service that'll be £150 collection then just gotta ( hopefully ) have the aux belt kit fitted up to it.
Does the members discount with K-tec apply to work carried out as well or just parts? ;)
If they havent replaced it and have the knackered belt off to do it will the cam belt need to be touched at all does anyone know?
I would go somewhere else and just make sure its done properly now but cant drive it anywhere :dapprove:
Just looked on the invoice & it says the following were included:
* Remove & replace cambelt & tensioner kit
* replace serpentine belt.
IF they did replace the tensioner is it possible to incorrectly fit it or is there anything else needed apart from the above?
I only popped the bonnet to clean around and noticed bits of rubber shavings.
I do remember when they fitted it that they said they had a real struggle with the tensioner on it!
Hopefully its not affected the cambelt in anyway :dapprove:
I had it done at a garage literally next to where i...
Just lifted the bonnet today to discover what looked like bits of rubber around by the top mounts.
Upon further inspection i noticed the belts dont look very good at all and believe they have been rubbing ( dont have a clue which bit it is they're rubbing on! )
I've taken a few pics & the...
I was driving through brislington today in my RB 182 & was behind a really tidy LG with the numberplate L19 DSY ( i think )
I havent put my CS stickers in the car yet :o shame on me!
I like that with the black around the lettering.
I guess i'd have to rub down the small area around and behind the lettering thats been left slightly raised before painting?
What would be the best paper to use to rub it down a little?
I've thought about the samco induction hose but not...
if i did the black around the lettering on the tops half whats the best stuff to use and how to apply it?
High temp spray and just mask off the lettering?
Yeah went for a shiny(ish) / matt effect between the top around the lettering and the lettering itself as I didnt want all the top to be shiny polished like the bottom cause it kinda all blends into one when its like that.
Not sure if the lettering maybe needs some colour? was thinking possibly...
Just had the parts fitted today so for all those that have followed this thread n wanted to see what it look likes on the car then here you go.
Thanks again for your comments! :D
Gonna be changing it over wednesday if I get a chance, i'll have updated pics on here of the bay when its fitted up.
I'd def be up for going to the FCS, is there gonna be a parking meet of the CS ppl ?
They guy i took it to did it in just under a week n charged £75 to do both.
He used to do machine polishing for a living n now just does it from a workshop at the back of his house.
Thanks for all the feedback guys ( no feedback from the CS women yet - thought you lot liked ur bling! lol )...
Dunno what to make of it so far - part of me thinks it looks ok but the other part thinks the polished look just doesn't go too well with the RB cover n looks a bit too much n possibly verging on tacky.
Whats the opinions?
Just had the plenum and fuel guard back from polishing so just placed the cover on to get the effect before fitting it first.
I just went for the usual polished look but didnt want all the top polished as it would look to much so went for a rough effect around the lettering to make the...
Haha, That was me! I pulled up at the junction and said you had good taste in cars!! :D
Ur clio looked v.tidy! - wondered if you would be a member on here
