I would say yes as they have normally revised it a few times and ironed out bugs that the original manufacture hasn't plus they are a lot cheaper. The glitching could be your server.

When i did mine i baked my inlet in the oven came out well just smelt so bad and to achieve a similar crinkle on the fuel rail cover i baked it unpainted then sprayed it straight out the oven came out fine on mine.

I have only ever used the mx2 boxes and really like them cant comment on the newer m8 if you buy a unset up one i can give you the file needed to set it up with everything you could want for xbmc.
