Don't worry I call the Clio a lot worse at times lol.
Next on the list was some CSL wheels but with the Clio project I can't really spend on both so the Clio has taken priority.
Man points, depending who you ask I didn't have much in the first place driving a convertible.
If it was in standard form -
DS2500 pads
Brembo discs
Braided brake lines
Upgraded brake fluid
Lowering springs
A good service.
Should even have some spare change for some Shell Vpower.
Could be worse, could be driving around in a Clio thinking its a sports car lol.
Joking aside, cant say I really get any bad comments. I think when people see me that's enough in itself let alone giving me a hard time about a vert!
Not that you'd notice on the road, even fast road driving. I'm sure a coupe would be more 'focused' on a track (mod for mod).
With the H&R's the car does handle pretty well!
You are correct, 18" wheels are meant to drive superior to the 19".
The car must be lowered to pull the 18" OEM wheels off though I believe.
The reason for keeping with the 19" for me is that I don't tend to drive the car any where close to the limits if that was the case I may have opted...
After seeing 'Tommy's' E46 M3 thread I thought I'd post a few pictures of mine.
Steel Grey with black interior ( Steel grey is a pretty rare colour, especially in hairdresser spec ).
Although a marmite option I opted for the SMG II as I always wanted one after my parents had SMG in 2003. I...
Mark the bolts before it goes in mate.
There was a huge thread that BMW dealers was charging / stating they have been done when Infact they hadn't.
I have a receipt saying mine was done 6,000 miles ago and Darren Wood said the seal was replaced but valves was not adjusted.
Awesome awesome...
Yes I understand that.
60mph+ they really do move. Have you had the valve Clearence checked? Mine had full service history etc etc had the valves adjusted at Darren Wood and it came back a different machine.
How are you finding the Intrax springs? I fitted H&R's on mine.
I had so many ideas for the E46 however the Clio is taking any spare money I have so the E46 is currently my daily driver. Not ideal as it sits pretty low having the hair dresser spec ( Vert ).
Lovely looking car you have!
After just speaking with BTM Performance. Hopefully I'll be able to get the car booked in with them late next week to get the best out the current suspension. At the moment I believe the car is running cheap K-Tec coilovers. They seemed ok at Oulton but I'm under no illusion they cant be...
Just a quick question to people who have or have had a rear strut brace.
I'm doubting you can feel much if any difference having one fitted, but I have been wrong before.
Other than looks will it aid track performance or are they more of a gimmick? Do the rear suspension move than much to...
I'm sure everyone has had a bad experience with a tuner/specialist. I know I had a huge one some years ago now I tend to stick with companies that have good reviews based on 'owners clubs' and touch wood its worked for me.
Anyway I think this thread needs to get back on topic, I'm sure the OP...
No pictures at the moment, I have just bought a picture disc from the recent Oulton track day so I'll post more pictures when that arrives.
Just fitted 2 new rear Toyo T1R so the car is at least road legal again.
Also I've spoken with Carbotech and they are going to make me some of there XP8...
Can't you buy direct?

We managed an entire outing at Oulton with the Toyos.
Granted towards the end sessions they started to melt pretty bad but so do track dedicated tyres.
I think the toyos offer a great mid range performance at a good price. I can't see a situation on the road fast driving they wouldn't handle...
I really wasn't a fan of the Toyo T1R's UNTIL recent.
They just about held together on track so fast road they'd be perfect and for approx £50 per corner they really are good value for money.
Ha I understand that, but I only cleaned underneath around 2 weeks ago.
Saying that it has had an oil and filter change since then...
Fingers crossed it's just built up over time and with the abuse of the track day heated up and ran.
