£1k won't see 20-30 bhp!!
Exhaust £400-500
induction kit - £200ish
Remap £300
£1000 gone and maybe, on a good day with the wind blowing in the right direction, 10bhp.
Tom, all the reasons I am arguing for using a carb are the same reasons you should stay with efi, so much effort and cost to convert from one to the other, it would be cheaper in the long run for you to buy a microsquirt.
I have control over the spark already. Going fuel injection alone, forgetting boost would involve:
microsquirt
efi inlet manifold
Fuel rail
injectors
low pressure fuel pump
Swirl pot
high pressure pump.
Return fuel line
plus more I have probably missed
For that I might as well change to a...
Cheap second hand megasquirt could be an option? Getting boost and carbs to play ball can be a pain, though could maybe use a 5GTT carb as that's boost ready.
Thought those on 15s would be interested in this http://locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/34/viewthread.php?tid=188466
They aren't new, but at those prices thats a bargain!
Go faster bits adjustable one. Day to day full recirc, feeling like a chav full dump. Awesome.
Dan that induction kit sounds like its going to be purchased!
Removed most of the hard top fitting kit from the Z3 before rain stopped play as you need to do it with roof down.
Started stripping down the X5 to change the water pump and then the rain got really heavy and there was no way I was standing out there in that for another 4 hours so came back in.
By that statement id guess you live in the dark depths of the north? Average house price in England and Wales is £165k currently. Sure 200k can buy a nice house in some parts of the country, but I'd say for most of it, it doesn't buy you anything special.
I have taken some awesome looking pictures on my iPhone, but they are never quite as good as they could've been if I had my E1 with me. Primer example being this from sunday morning.
ETA: Which on my iphone looked far more epic than it does now I am seeing it on my MBP, though on my iPhone I...
Because the DC2 was SO good, and people want the modern equivalent that being the DC5 which is good, but not as good, oh and to add to that it wasn't sold here so they are all JDM imports further adding to the scene price.
Personally, with the £6k+ starting point for these, or £7k+ for one in a...
Skint now
gotta fuel all those cylinders

TBH just looked up what the ones I arranged at TDF used to cost for the people attending (rather than me with organisers/mates rates) and it doesn't seem so steep now, but still not spunking £40 on a piece of pepper to tell...
er.... is JPOC.net right?? http://www.jpoc.net
I assume its meant to be www.jpoc.co.uk ???
Anyway, as much as I fancy doing a power run for the scoob, at £40 I'm out.

What are you used to? If like me the quickest thing you are used to on a daily basis is a 1*2 or similar then 280bhp in a bug/blob is mightily impressive!
