The problem with the flat spot is more accelerating from 2-2.5k iirc. Revving through that range from below it does not produce the same problem and is much harder to notice the effects.
That's kevs old car. Cammed, larger cable control throttle body, stripped, was a bit of a monster at the time, though that was 4 years ago
