Not sure about the clip. Try talking to Adam from Renault Wolverhampton on here (in the traders section of the forums) he often does stuff cheaper than main parts officers. Posting a picture of the part would probably help as well because I have zero idea what you are talking about! ;)
As for...
It sounds like its already in top shape from what you have said. My advice would be leave it well alone and just enjoy driving a low mileage tidy little Clio! :) If its really as good as it sounds and you really want to play about with it, don't "bodge" the induction kit, save the money and get...
Its ok Pal. Yer, Quick Detail is magic stuff. Used it at a few shows after driving to them. Bottled water wash and then a blast of quick detail to bring up the just waxed look! :) Also might be worth considering Knuckles comments below if you are going to be buying a few bits for the future...
What you have suggested in the first post is what I do and it works a treat. My cars paint is waxed/sealed, so at the moment I hose the car off, wash with two bucket method, autoglym shampoo and conditioner and then dry with a couple of microfiber towels. If after that the surface of the car is...
Leeds will be far! It's around 35-40 mins from Chester, and I know Chester is a good hour or so away from Leeds, I have family and friends there. Will be around 2 hours there another 2 hours back again for you.
Their good mind you so would be worth the drive if there are no other recommended...
Oil and oil filer. Air filter and spark plugs would be a good starting point. Giving the car a service. The parts shouldn't be too much for a 1.2 either. If you go into CarParts4less.com and put in your reg, you can order the bits from there that suit your car. You would just need to find out...
What they have done here is fitted a universal air filter to the cold air feed into the air box and then removed the warm air feed from the top of the manifold leaving a big hole into the original airbox letting unfiltered air in. Now unless they have left the air filter inside the original box...
To be fair, eBay T's & C's do sort of say that you should view cars before bidding on them. Loads of adverts do say you should view before bidding and you aren't bidding to "view!" It's to buy. I remove bids from any cars I'm selling on eBay where the bidder hasn't made contact with me first or...
Could cut it in the middle, would take some prep work to be sure it met up nearly afterwords but that could work. I wouldn't personally LCR on a Clio, not my thing. Only had it on the TT because "scene points!" Haha.
Jack
Got the parts my self and these guys did the work.
Carparts4less: oils, air filter, cabin filter, oil filter and spark plugs. £53.60
Renault Wolverhampton: Both belt kits and all relevant bits and bobs. £181.30
rentec eBay: Dephaser pulley £114.00
Birchdown: labour rates, a few consumables and...
I haven't done anything! Birchdown did all the work! New belts, depahser, tensioners, pullies, oils, filters and plugs. Well worth it as my car feels a million times better as a result! Best part of it all, they stopped my exhaust looking like this:
and made it look like this! :P
it now...
The guy sounds like a total lettuce. His feedback is amazing, the replies to his negative ones cracked me up! Who actually calls someone a "wasteman" hahaha.
Not really sure about that, by the time you have trimmed it down to fit the two parts at either end that get larger would be much smaller and look odd. Plus it starts to get thicker much further along the splitter so by the time you have fitted it to the clio, its well around the curve of the...
SEVENTY FOUR MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX THOUSAAAAAND MILES?! Bleeding heck, that last owner must have done some motorway mileage for their job! Good job that every one of them is "warranted!" hahaha
im in the same boat as you gally. My contract ends in around 40 days and im really tempted to walk away from Apple. I love my iPhone 5 and couldn't wait to go and get it on release date, but now having had a play with several other devices, I cant see why I am paying nearly twice as much as the...
There are so many threads like this one all with the same advice, and that's because its good advice! If you have the itch to tinker with your car and want to do something worth while, spend time learning to take it apart yourself. You have said "there is no way I could do these myself." But of...
Birchdown adds value then! Worth taking it to them! :p the car feels and sounds fantastic now and I'm not selling anytime soon, just enjoying it! It's loads of fun! They also made the exhaust look 100% better! :)
Got the car back. Feels amazing, sounds loads healthier and I have a nice little to do list between now and next MOT. Properly chuffed and the guys at Birchdown are brilliant and really accommodating. :) surprisingly cheap as well for the amount of work involved as well! And best of all, they...
Rememberer its not just mileage for the belts. its ages as well. They could have been done at 70k and the car is well in the mileage interval, but the car could have been on 70k 7 years ago, at that point they are well over due! Check the date they were done! IIRC they are 75k or 5 years...
...18" on a Clio will look like a clown car! Dont waste your money as it will look hidious, drive like rubbish and probably not fit properly and scrub on the arches onside and out
Im just curious really. 2002 172 in the common iceberg silver! Average condition for age with a few stone chips in bonnet, few scuffs in front bumper and two wheels would benefit from a refurb as they are curbed on the edge and one has a few scuffs that have been touched in fairly poorly. I have...
I paid over the odds for mine knowing what I know now. Went in totally blind, zero research and pretty much ignored the advise on here...and Iv been fairly lucky I think not to get a total lemon. I had a budget of £1500 and picked up my 172. 103k when I got it, 12 months MOT, 6 months tax...
Cheers! Its a right grot box at the moment though. Needs a really deep interior clean to try and lift some of the smell out. It was sat for a week with a bucket of damp cloths in the boot during the heat... Smells of wet dog now! Will be sorting it out on Friday after work. The front bumper...
Cheers for the PM. Gives me an idea of what I'm expecting tomorrow then! :p I'm looking forward to getting it back tomorrow, if only to give the green turd back! I'm either expecting a long list of things they think need doing, or a pleasant surprise of small things that aren't major! Haha.
Jack
Iv heard they are top lads, that's why I have taken it there. Having it fully serviced as well and they are going to look at my exhaust and see if it can be properly aligned to make it look less crap, and also inspec the car to give me a proper list of jobs that I may want seeing to in the...
I left the car at Birchdown this evening. There was a nice looking black 182 parked up outside so dumped mine next to it.
The car I have been given for the courtesy car is amazing! Clio grande, it's been a while since I have driven a car that has no power anywhere through the range! Makes me...
