Brakes are more than fine for fast road use, waste of time and money changing from 4 pot Brembos on a road going Clio.
Does seem a random choice, but my guess is that they've got a large portion of the UK market and need to 'spread their wings' so to speak.

It has been announced that there will be no UK World Series by Renault in 2012. It is moving abroad to either Brazil or Russia... :S
It will return to the UK in 2013.
The new Clio can be ordered with DRL's, but to be fair they look awful.

The immobiliser and central locking work on two separate systems. Just because it unlocks fine doesn't mean the key will be sending a signal to the immobiliser.
Ideally trying the spare key would prove this, but as you don't have one you'll have to start checking things on the car. Decoder ring...
People really shouldn't be suggesting that spring compressors aren't needed.
Seasoned mechanics wont use them, sure, but DIY'ers I would always suggest using them for everyone's safety!
If you've ever seen a spring let go you'll understand why.
Ignore it, the 200's are worlds apart from the Mk2's.
Personally I've never driven a T, but the 200 is far superior to the 182 that I owned for nearly 4 years!
You don't 'need' compressors, but if you're a novice I'd certainly recommend using them!
I've done numerous front springs and the compressors make it a little safer.
