sat in a new megane 'sport' this weekend, really liked it inside tbh. the dials are sweet as is the sweeping dash and general quality feel.
also saw my first twingo rs and i was amazed at how good it looked (was black with anthracite wheels) really suprised, seen as i dislike the twingo gt...
i know m8 but there are obviously some people who genuinley think there competing, which is fine its a public opinion forum.
im not taking sides, iam gonna try test blag a drive in a FRS too, and al_G is right it might not actually be faster on track than the meg just because of the straight...
no, the ford is faster, no doubt. thats not a problem. one car being faster, it doesnt make it better. Also why not ditch the focus ST, making the FRS the only model ?
the new 2009 meg wont have a special edition for a while, if it does then yea compare.
may i correct you, it will always be WRONGLY compared to the FRS.
2500 a year for two years on the FRS. its a limited run model.
both 250+ bhp ?
R29 (or whatever) will probably be 248bhp (250ps) and bang on the money, the Focus RS will be over 300bhp (hinted at producing more than...

1.03 min in, check out the ferrari yellow dial ?
1.29 close up
and the yellow dot on the recaros are niceee
tbh there is a fair ammount of leon influence in there
sadly i posted my previous comment before seeing that.
its a bit of a mess with all that stuff on, ditch the spoiler, stickers and get black wheels instead and it will be ok.
true, its prolly just a remap from 184bhp to 190bhp so yea it will possibly be only 8-9hp more max in the real world but that might make it 182 speed seen as its avaliable in a 35kg lighter cup spec
exactly,
im not knocking the FRS its an achievement and i love hothatches, the fact its probably quicker than the new STi shows how much progress fwd has made. its not bad looking at all but as ever there is always that extra large diffuser, silly massive rear wing, 19" wheels, fake bonnet...
well i would, fake vents and 19" wheels huge, huge spoiler. also whats power got to do with it.
id say it looks better than the R26R but i dont think it looks better than the new RS tbh, thats personal preference.
err.. you REALLY dont get it, this IS fords 'rally/race' version, the big...
i really hate you now.
stop it with this comparison TBQFH its not in the same league, its not a 'special' when the megane rs becomes a special (2yrs ?) it will no doubt be 150kg lighter still than standard (R26R weight or less) with 20more bhp and better handling.. also this would put it firmly...
the challenge is in allowing the engineers to do what they need to do, which with a modern company like renault fitting poly carb rear windows on a production car is no mean feat.
I still think the FRS is in a different posistion, i mean how can you compare a 230hp megane to a 300bhp+ 300lbft +...
because of cost, a megane comes in at £19-£20k the FRS is £24-£26k, the FRS is 300bhp, the megane will be 230-250bhp. its different. the focus ST is its main competitor.
interestingly took a hell of a lot of time to make the focus rs vs the time it took to make the R26R ! yet both are equal...
