ABS saved my life I reakon, was trying to max out my other Golf Gti on the A3 on the way to Isle of Wight. Road dead straight for a few miles, nowhere for plod to hide, 122 on the clock then tractor pulls out of field. My initial raction was to stand on brake, ABS sorted it, still skidded a bit...
DTWD,
It works mate, just being interested in their appearence complimenting them on Hair/skin/nails all the things they spend loadsa time and money on and your halfway there. You dont have to go the whole Dale Winton on them just take notice of them. Last week in the queue at Tesco I struck...
GIRTH,
Peugeot are bouncing the figure of £15 495 around for the 180 Gti at the moment.
Nice looking car and impressive sounding though, but I cant see how Pug can justify that price tag when IMHO the 172 & Cup must be its closest challenger, and they weigh in for £2500 less. I dont even...

Its not looking like the GTi 180 is going to be a slouch on the twisty stuff either.
Taken from the 4CAR website
"The 206 GTi 180 has modified front suspension geometry and stiffer springs, and two rear tie rods for improved rear axle stability and better road holding, as on the 206 SW...

If it had to let air in id say that its for the reason Ben H stated " Rear facing manifold next to bulkhead, lack of cool air from front grill" As for Moving on it dosent seem to bother the likes of Subarus Impreza or BMWs M3, both up to date cars with vents and bulges that serve a purpose...

Was the main purpose of the bonnet bulge on my valver to let cool air in or allow the hot air out, at speed I cant imagine much cool air being forced in as it was flush to the bonnet rather than the R19 16v which had a scoop which purtruded.

cyue005, its true what you say in the VAG are letting Seat (not sure about Skoda) produce the hot hatches, but I think they are aiming the Golf at the generation who 20 years ago bought the original GTi and are not quite ready for the next jump up into the Passat. It would be nice though if VAG...

I know mate, im rollin one at the moment. Just hope VW sort out their sport image with the 5th generation Golf. Ive heard the guy who designed the Focus suspension set-up is now at VW so maybe better handling panzerwagens are on the horizon. Lets hope also that now hothatches are no longer seen...
I think Ben we may see the TDi 150 as the pioneer for hot diesels, never before would any discurning performance car driver be seen driving a diesel but through some clever VW marketing this car is becoming trendy. It wont be long before other manufacturers home in on the untapped potential of...
