Regular oil changes and belts up to date and you are onto a winner
Most ive seen with high miles need dephasers doing due to lack of oil changes
then for that extra money you have to spend you may aswell get a lower mileage better looked after example
im on the hunt for a bargain phase 1...
get the car running with the rear screen heater and fans etc etc on
and see if the voltage drops then starts to go back up
if it doesnt go back up its the alternator
check all wires are connected up and none have come lose which is common
I nearly bought one until the test drive
mpg was shocking and the clutch worries put me off a bit
handled well though and does look good
i went for the Alfa 147 though which im glad i went with over the st170
even though the mpg isnt much better Lol
but then to buy a 2 year old one if you didnt have the money you would need a 10 k loan
which is £200 a month for 5 years, and for that you could have a new car every 2 years on pcp
it is the only way i'd have a new car
Yep
still needs servicing but that hasnt been mentioned unless i misread??
id rather own a car thats been driven, compared to one used to drive to the local and back
shell v power is worth the coin
as you get extra mpg and that is a fact
so your not loosing out and it has better cleaning properties apparently
so why not use it?
I was refering to the fact that if someone did that on this forum he would have been told to use the money for a holiday or a mortgage
;)
Is he doing the full build by himself?? is he a mech? or is he getting help
