well according to the evga forums it'll work ok. it's the asus implementation of it qhich is the issue from what i can see... really wish it had worked first time, but if you look on the asus forums it's a nightmare. You should be ok though as you don't have a q6600

yeh i know apparently it's a specific issue with the q6600 and i'm not spending £800 on a processor. It also has a number of other issues undervolting ram, not utilising all four cores blah blah blah. Any suggestions on a motherboard mate?

Well essentially there is a terrible implementation iof quad core support on this chipset, it's all over the forums. Built the machine perfectly and it wouldn't load vista onto it.
