Bonnet £130+ spraying & fitting,
Bumper (guess) £150+ spraying & fitting,
Headlights £100+ for pair, plus fitting,
Fogs (guess) £60-£100 for pair plus fitting.
All in at dealer prices I think you're looking at £1k+
Cost me £250 for a bonnet respray through the dealers many years ago :eek:
it could be a charging system problem. Is the car harder to start after a long journey? If there's no drain, new battery fitted then that only really leaves a problem in the charging system.
I'm on 2 cars at present but only until mine is collected later today then the full policy transfers to my new car :D As soon as I drive the new one, my current cars cover expires.
If you can get hold of a wiring diagram, it should be possible to trace all the units which are;
a) connected to live while the ignition is off.
and
b) not protected by the fuses you have removed.
One of these will be the culprit.
I'm not 100% but with all the fuses removed all I can think of is the fusible links at the starter although i'm not even certain on that car. It would explain things a little though.
Ah i see. When the battery is low the starter will jam as there isn't enough current to fire it correctly.
As for the current drain, where did he measure it?
if i remember correcty the main fuses are in the engine compartment anyway, so taking out the fuses from the dash will only narrow it down. It could be that a relay in the engine bay is stuck/faulty causing a trickle current to be flowing at all times, hence the starter motor. The two are...
A new bonnet (not genuine) is about £115, expect to pay £100 + for spraying up maybe more. A carbon one is around £250 and yes they can be sprayed to match the paintwork.
