Go for Goodridge lines ;). On my cup i run;
DS2500 pads
Brembo HC's
Goodridge Braided lines
Motul RBF 660
Standard rears
This really is a fantastic set up imo, well recommended from me.
Re: Standard BHP.
The f4r engine in 1*2's is well known for producing power figures below the 'book' figure, many 172's achieve figures of around 165bhp and many 182's getting figures of around 170-175bhp. Some do make more power but dont be surprised if yours makes less power than standard...
I have went from a VTR > VTS > 172 CUP. The Cup weighs in at 1039 which is 89 kilo's lighter than a normal 172 and the weight DOES make a difference if your 172 is healthy.
Comparing it to a saxo;
handling - Is better than a saxo in some respects however what the saxo slightly lacks it makes...
Yeah dude two problems, the first is that you lose your horn normally (but with the new omp wheel the 'OMP' button is a horn button), and i have heard a new rule is that any airbag fitted as standard that is missing is now an MOT fail, although im not 100% on that.
Im another huge fan of mk1 Focus RS's, the power delivery in them is fantastic and that is a gorgeous motor. Im not normally a fan of pro race 1.2's but i think they look great and its refreshing to see one with some different wheels than the standards. Lovely.
My friend had a 200 and at first i thought the beep is pretty cool, but i can imagine that it does grow pretty annoying after a while and really you dont need a beep to tell you something that you should already know lol
Yeah you can get something decent'ish for 2k dude, if you could stretch to 2.5k that could make all the difference in the type of example you could buy though ;)
