Look for the coolant residue. This will give it away. Mine leaks a tad from the thermostat housing hose join. I need to to drain it and clean any crap off to fix. Yours I reckon will be something similar
Fitted my racing flex poly Bush dog bone bushes. Surprisingly easy. The only difficult part was getting the dog bone back in as the poly Bush is a tight fit at the back.
Now to let it bed in. On idle it's fine on gentle acceleration it feels like the car is going to shake apart!
A 172 will easily return 40mpg on a run. Ok so the Clio is not the most refined or quietest place to be. Having said that I had a brand new astra gtr as a rental for a bit and the noise level on that was on par if not louder than my 13 year old Clio.
Stopping kidding yourself you just want...
So you're going to save £120 a month but are going to have to spend at least £165 a month on renting a car not including fuel. I really don't see the sense in this
Good on you mate for trying something different. Not a fan of the bullets but you win some you lose some. At the end of the day it's all down to trial and error
@jamesycc once you have your base colour and its dry. Spray it with water. Then using one or two other colours spray the item from right down do that got just dusting the top level. Keep the rattle can parralel to the item you painting so your just supplying a light mist. Do it from one side...
Ok so I have a couple of little updates fatty kit fitted. Initially I had an annoying resonance but that was sorted by cutting the pipe down. The one if bought was 5cm longer.
Pipe too long!
Note right length.
So being bored I decided to have a play with paint affects and water on my...
Cheers for the offer mate. I'll get the vid uploaded first and let you guys hear. I didn't think it would take so long to up load 899mb. It's only 6 mins of vid for good sake[emoji35]

Already but a pics off piping on there. So no noise.
Yet filter is fine where it is. It's a right fit. It's touching the battery and the fuse box cover.
I'm trying to get photobucket to upload one off my dash cam. It's taking for ever. It might just be one of those things. I have to admit...
Had it a part cut my pipe down to the right length and its still making a high pitched resonating sound when you just touch the throttle. The only thing I can think is that as the pipe is aluminium it's making it have a high pitch resonating whistle when the throttle is just touched. Certainly...
No not yet just loosened it all and tried moving it about. It's v tight in there I'm using the bigger filter and with the pipe being longer I'm thinking this is my issue. I'll take a part and report back.
It does sound impressive at 5k if only I can get rid of this initial resonance it has...
Well fitted mine today and I have to honest I'm not impressed. I have a really bad metallic resonating sound which is driving me potty. I've noticed that my aluminium pipe is about 5cm longer than the one on the front page. Surely though the extra length wouldn't make it resonate or would it...
I've bought the racing flex bushes for nine direct for £32 posted from Poland. I'm just awaiting them to turn up. They posted them Monday so should be here soon. They seem to be a sizeable discount to the power flex ones
Cannot wait to fit my fatty kit this weekend. Only thing stopping me during the week is the removal of the acoustic valve otherwise it would have been on by now
