There needs to be an official time lapse thread with so many people attempting them. Is it really that bad for the camera if your taking 1000 shots within say an hour?
The images were layered using the software but the picture was then tweaked in photoshop. I shot in Jpeg as I didn't fancy editing 98 pictures in RAW.

Tbf star trails is some thing that takes practice. In my opinion the picture needs a darker night to expose more stars, more lighting on the rock and a longer length of time capturing. But I only know that from going out last night to see what results I would...
So tonight the skys were clear so I set out to capture a decent star trail. It's a shot I have tried before but with little success. Tonights effort was much better.

I thought this also. But I set the interval time to 32 seconds so I would have a 30 second exposure and a 2 second gap but infact I get the 30 second exposure and the 32 second gap lol.
Please help me with this.
I set the time to now, then the interval to 1 second and 14 intervals.
But the camera takes 1 or 2 pictures max and then stops? If I set the interval to 32 seconds then it works fine but then I get a 32 second gap between pictures.
Any thoughts?
I love this picture, although I wish it was more panoramic. It's inspired me to get a landscape based sunset tonight. Instead of the bloody sea all the time :D
