So i've obviously got a problem, do any of you have an clues to the cause of this problem. Do Mk1 Clios have a history of excessive fuel consumption? Is it the ECU or the the cat?

Has anyone else experienced heavy fuel usage. I'm driving a Clio Mk1 1.4 and im only getting around 20mpg. Anyone with ideas to what could be the root problem? Great car, but costing me a fortune in juice.
