Dashboard?

Hi there,
Does anyone know about the modification to the dashboard on a Mk1, where you get extra space to the left of the main console. Ive noticed alot of people have been dropping in three extra dials in it. Does the dash come off another car? I want to move my stereo from the bottom up onto the top alongside the main dials. Is this possible to do?

why would you want to advertise the stereo like that.

Good question, the light from my Kenwood is really difficult to see because the angle of the bottom space points the Kenwood at an angle that irritates me. In daylight its a real pain trying to see it. When placed at 90 degree, its fine. Also, I would just like it further up, straight on, facing me. I dont want to put 3 silly dials in...what are those dials that people put in?

could be anything random mate if u got a turbo then ur boost gauage temp volts at battery volts at amplifier and the dash u get out of the older modles

thats the 16v dash with the 3 dials in it, i have the full 16v dash with dials spare as i have just put in a full williams interior.
the dash needs repainting but the rest is in near mint condition. if your interested
