I like my security devices bridged at the gateway but anyways I've been given a Sophos WS500 proxy server to play with.
Setting up a GPO with proxy settings was easy enough etc but I have a lot of laptop users where this isn't going to work.
So I was going down the proxy.pac route then DNS...
Was trying to work out the licensing for a network I'm setting up.
I have 200 users accessing OWA offsite but only 4 physical PC's on the Domain. I thought I'd get away with a 5 device CAL's.
But I guess it wouldn't be that simple and I presume Microsoft would treat every remote user's PC...

I've started getting bluray disc's now with a 'protective sheath' on them. With a warning not to remove it and it will work with all bluray players.
Well the disc's won't read in my panasonic bluray player so what a load of s**t. I've removed it and it works fine.
Anyone else have problems?
I've got a RRAS server setup for VPN at a customers site. Just run of the mill PPTP one - usually dead easy to setup. However one of the remote workers can't access any files on the server.
I can VPN into the server no problem and access all the files.
He can get the VPN connected, can...

Any Recommendations?
I pursume you do an initial full backup then differential? I've got a few customers asking about this - but most usually have a lot of data to back up daily. Seems crazy over a DSL line.
Is there anyway to relay broadcast traffic on a Windows 2003 Server acting as the a router between subnet A and Subnet B?

Ok I’ve got a serious network problem with a couple of sites and I’m scratching my head a little on this one.
We remote administer a lot of Telephone Systems using a programming tool that connects over the internet via IP. We also configure the routers (if we install them) remotely.

I'm trying to install a hardware firewall on a network but I've got stuck and can't get it to work.

I'm currently designing a network for a small/medium business. Without me typing up the whole brief I've come up with a rough outline of my intended design. Now this is slightly bigger than I normally deal with so any feedback on anything obvious I'm missing would be great. Don't forget this is...
