As Daniel said, had a v70 D5, and it was utter shite for towing. Even with a light with clio and trailer. Sold it and bought an e46 330D, remapped it and it'll tow at 70+ without breaking a sweat. Ideally I want a 530D touring, but that's only because of family/dog etc.
You can request a refund for the faulty part but that's it, other than getting the garage to put yet another replacement fitted. I'll price it up tomorrow.
In honesty, there's a lot of factors when mapping these, personally I run them relatively rich, (11.5:1 AFR) as this keeps things cool, and the standard Pistons don't lend themselves to too much heat before ring lands and valves start to fail, which does loose a bit of power (I adjusted...
Mega update I guess!!
It'll be very brief as I haven't got many pics.
Engine was in, then I set about wiring:

It's not a 3 hour job on these, not now that majority of the time the subframe nuts are spinning and that then will add an hour on easily. I allow a full day for them now, been bitten too many times.
I hadn't actually spoken to anyone at that point.
Secondly, you did also say to me that sometimes Andy limits the throttle lower to limit the boost. I did have you on loudspeaker at this point so @RMDavis also heard everything that was being discussed between you and myself, just so we were...
Mapped on 95 is a good safe guard. I shall be doing it with Tcup if I can. But I don't know how liable it will be to knock when I'm starting to wind some proper boost into it. If I can't do it then I'll be doing 97, then running 99 with an octane booster. I always try and advise people (with...
