Can this be done easily or at all?
Mine is very slightly blowing from somewhere, it's just the excuse I need to go for the MR230 pack which has the exhaust included but knowing Mountune it could be a good few weeks before I can get it fitted.
Paste? Bandage? Welding?
What are my options?
I had a great day there back in August, weather was fantastic all day long. Had a few good tussles in the ST, lots of lightweight, blown, and grippy cars, huge fun.
This is the first of a few that will follow
This morning I managed to get smacked up the ar*e by a Megane while taking Megan to school, it shook her up a bit but she managed to get to and take part in the sports day and is fine. I now have, after several hours of recovery, taxi rides, collection by Enterprise, and then a fun drive home, a...
...I was quite surprised by this given the pitlane at Goodwood had just had a fresh sprinkling of drizzle.
A couple of quicker gear changes and with solid traction all the way through 2nd I should better Lord 'arris' figure of 15.4.
Does anyone have any experience with these?
I'm looking for something to capture a good quality two-channel audio input, captured from in-built mics or a separate mic/line-in.
I'm thinking the standard dictaphone/voice recorder isn't ideal as they're geared specifically for voice only whereas...
So I'm out legally lapping a local section of DC trying to get my intake temps up when a B6 S4 joined in the fun.
Conclusion?
An upgraded intercooler is a waste of money unless you do trackdays, and the understeer in an S4 means it gives a massive amount away exiting tight 2nd gear turns.
Various in-gear runs and a 20-80 sprint at the end. I'm surprised the Clio held up as well as it did...the torque of the ST makes me remember the 200 as being quite breathless...but it's never really that far behind...
I had the use of a 1.0 Zetec so went out and did this...
LOL at the looooooooooooong gearing! Despite that it feels a hell of a lot quicker than it looks.
Two modern cars, identical in every way except for the brake setup.
One has 4-pot calipers, bigger discs, larger swept area. The other has a standard single-piston setup.
Which one stops quicker?
This is the last weekend to get some footage and performance data before my ST gets the MP215 treatment on Wednesday so, as a synchronisation test and to whet the appetite of those waiting on delivery of theirs (I know of at least two), I went out and had a play. New phone, new OBD bluetooth...
Yesterday I said goodbye to my Clio 200 after 18 months and 30k miles and hello to its replacement, a Molten Orange Fiesta ST.
After just under 24hrs which has included 107 miles driven all in, one fill-up (mandatory charts and s**t to follow), 3.5hrs cleaning it of all its transit...
Took the Scenic for new tyres this morning but couldn't get the wheelnut cover off one of the wheels as the bolt has seized.
The 'T'piece tool Renault supply would be more effective if it were made from cheese...and so far, no amount of penetrating fluid, taps with a punch, or attempts with the...
The bit with the shiny Renault badge on it that covers the airbag...are these replaceable as a separate item or does it involve changing the whole airbag assembly?
Engaged reverse yesterday and instead of the usual short beep I got a continuous tone. Checked there was nothing behind, cleaned the sensors, tried again and got exactly the same.
Went for a drive, reversed out of a parking space and got the usual short beep when engaging gear, but it no longer...
Lower curve was from a year ago, 19k miles having been driven mostly by the original OAP owners (so likely never seen over 3k rpm) and no doubt on standard 95 fuel.
Upper curve is from today...I've spent the last year putting 22k more miles on it (a daily 50 mile beasting on deserted country A...
